I used to come here a lot before moving to California, more often than Fairground Square Mall. It's nice to know it outlived Fairground and still standing. Really funny how you mentioned the lady fell into the fountain, I remember it! She had her attention on her cellphone while walking.
That is the most amazing mall I've seen in a long time! I *love* that multi-tier fountain with the deep-blue streetlights right as you enter. The fountain+bridge combo near Sears was also awesome, planters and wood benches all over, the neon lights in the food court, even the tornado columns on the second floor were an cool touch! This mall just REALLY has amazing aesthetics!
it looks like a great mall i love the fountains & the soft blue lighting with both the street lights by the fountain & at top of the columns.its a real shame that places like this are disappearing.its not too far from philadelphia so next time i'm out that was i'll try to make a stop out there
The seating at 3:51 was always there, and was a “meet-back-up” point for families when everyone wanted to shop at different stores. Cool modern design element.
You do you man I don’t blame u I would’ve done that when I went to toys r us nere north lake mall also go check out perimiter and north point mall in GA
Wow, what an amazing mall, that fountain and bridge is a thing of beauty. Please transport this mall to Melbourne, Australia. We will love it and fill it with shoppers!!
It's quite amazing to see so many videos about this mall. ...where back in the late 80's and 90's I and many others could be found there every freaking weekend. Hitting up the arcade and just roaming around and socializing. It was basically the internet in real life. Oh! Where the customer service desk is (was) at, that used to be a huge fountain (bigger than the other 2) and it would shoot up water near the ceiling. You could stand on the second floor and watch it shoot up past where you were standing. You would walk into the mall and the first thing you could smell would be the chlorine they would use to keep it clean. Ah good times. I'm really glad I grew up in that time. Though I do wonder what it would be like to be a kid now with today's technology, knowing that it's only going to get more and more hi-tech. Oh yeah...good job with the random facts about it. Oh one more thing... the entrance you went through, isn't actually the main entrance even though it says the name on it. It is indeed the entrance with the big Terrace Cafe sign. And that is where the entrance where you would encounter the big fountain.
😍the flooring alone makes me want to visit PA to see this mall. I dig your approach. I hope you come to DFW and check out our malls and former malls soon.
I just visited this mall and it's much the same! The biggest differences were the fountain being dirtier near Boscovs and less options in the food court. The mall still had a bunch of people moving about though.
This mall has been here since I was a teenager- in fact, my first “real” job when I was in high school was at Sears. I haven’t been to the mall in quite some time except to go to Boscov’s occasionally, but the last time I went into the mall itself there were a lot of vacant storefronts. Hopefully it can be turned around and thrive again
The Berkshire Mall (pronounced "Berk-sher" by the way) was the mall of my childhood, I've visited almost since it opened and was there 2 days ago. Sadly many more stores are gone especially in the Sears wing, but there is still a lot of foot traffic and Boscov's is apparently thriving. I'm glad you appreciate its vintage look! Lots of memories here.
I have a feeling a lot of the nostalgic features are removed due to distracted patrons (Screen Zombies) falling and walking into structural and aesthetic features (fountains and planters). This is a good place to place the warning! ⚠️ NO DISTRACTED WALKING! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE YOU'RE GOING! ⚠️ I don't want to see aesthetic features being removed due to this problem. I feel like it's number 2 to the reason of the cost of running the things. (Mainly electricity to constantly circulate the water)
That BOZO falling into the fountain was hysterical. What a nitwit, walking like a zombie, clueless to everything, while texting and right into the fountain.
In the early 70s there was a bomb scare one Saturday afternoon . I was there and everyone was kept from leaving until there was an all clear. Something was found in the landscaping along one of the walls. The next day the chief of police was interviewed about what was found. His response was "no comment".
i went here all the time and i got my halloween costume one year from spirit halloween and i ate at a firehouse subs connected to it edit: i also got a chiefs hat with patrick mahomes name engraved into it at a sports shop in the mall

It's refreshing to see a mall keep some of its original flooring. It gives it character.

Agreed!
Vintage floors, and those planting areas with the wooden benches 😍 the neon in the food court and the fountains too

This mall has a bit of everything! What a true gem. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Very cool mall. And those hexagonal tiles are buffed to perfection.
The seating at 3:51 was always there, and was a “meet-back-up” point for families when everyone wanted to shop at different stores. Cool modern design element.
Among my favorite malls I've been to personally! The neon touches, that fountain bridge just make this one amazing place.
The Sears wing fountain was finally turned back on recently. It was down for a long time.
Great channel man! It's cool youre putting old weatherscan music in some of your videos haha! Peace bro ✌️

This is a great mall. I'm certain its been updated but it really takes me back to the 80's. Thank you for another great video.

I can usually tell about when the video was shot when I see the Spirit Halloween stores usually in an empty store front.
your filming and editing is amazing , keep up the amazing work , I'm glad your channel came across my screen today! (subscribed and alerted)
that little kid running away from him mom! she picked him up like a suitcase!
It feels like a hybrid between a cool mall from the 1970s and a cool mall from the 1980s.

This mall is awesome! My favorite part about it is the fountain by boscov’s. You don’t see a lot of those fountains anymore.

Love the fountains. Beautiful mall with some bad karma.
Great video man

Have you checked out Great Lakes mall in Detroit? I was just there too.
In the early 70s there was a bomb scare one Saturday afternoon . I was there and everyone was kept from leaving until there was an all clear. Something was found in the landscaping along one of the walls. The next day the chief of police was interviewed about what was found. His response was "no comment".

And then sears would close in 2018 or 2019
Minus another GNC though…
Slow down man. This is a virtual tour, not a sprint.
