For the moon medallion, you could try photocopying the cardboard piece and then taping the paper to the back of the film. May have to align the ink toward the light source or put something else in between to adjust how harsh the lines show up.

Any player that complains about this board doesnt deserve to play at this board. Would double as an amazing D&D dungeon crawl. Looks fabulous!
