Not a direct comparison but interesting nonetheless. I am tempted to put fluoro on one of my reels to try. Tight lines.

Hi Jason, I must say I have been really impressed with this fluoro

Great video! I've been asking this question myself for a while. The casting test surprised me, I thought there would be a bigger difference!
Completely unrelated to the video but what is that backpack? It looks really great for days out with the old rod and line!

Thanks Thomas, the fluoro would have cast a bit further than the braid had i put enough line on the spool! the rucksack was a klattermusen... made out of kevlar.... and it really is bombproof

How can you test it with two different reels? It's not going to be true? You need two same setup for this test.

Yes it would have been more accurate, it was down to time available to film unfortunately

@theoccasionalangler6956 conquest isn't going to proforma like a aldebaran. The rods old13 ML isn't going to be the same as Diwia ML rod.

@@jcold3621 yes , I can see you are struggling with the concept of this test, really it was simply to show how fluoro mainline would impact the performance of two high end BFS setups …. It’s not a granular comparison between the alphas air and shimano cc bfs

Firstly keep the music it’s fine better than the boring Drs surgery music that most use…… these tests are interesting but it’s lure fishing I don’t get why anyone uses fluro the bite detection is so second rate to braid…. Bottom line is we want to catch fish so why use something that doesn’t have the feel of braid when our whole hope on catching relies on feel

Hi Dan, thanks for your feedback, I agree about the music🤟 . Regarding bottom contact with lures and bite detection, things get interesting. On a tight line , braid gives far more feedback and bite detection…. But I often fish with a slight slack in my line … and this is were fluoro has an advantage. Fluoro gives feedback on a slack line, braid doesn’t

@@theoccasionalangler6956 that is very true and something I noticed myself when I used fluro but I definitely noticed the catch rate go up when the weather gets so cold, there is to much delay on inducation for me how quick a perch can drop a lure is crazy so having to wait wait even half a second longer is the difference catching and not…. I don’t think you have this issue with 2lb plus perch as they clamp down harder but everything else in the cold is very subtle so indication on fluro has a delay due to the slack line… and that’s not my opinion that’s a fact of physics there is a delay if that delay doesn’t bother you then that’s great but fishing is about percentages unless you want to catch the same as everyone else

So how far can your bfs cast the 3 grm? The way you present your video makes no sense.
