Great deal that you have part of the rear parcel shelf. I have seen that area being repaired with sheet metal taken from discarded washing machines.; as long as the gauge is satisfactory and the metal can be rolled to get the ribs to strengthen it you will restore the structural integrity and will be fine. For weatherstripping I suggest getting the best quality you can. Either OEM or West Coast Metric. If you can prevent water leaks you will prevent rust.
Discarded washing machines! Now that's an interesting object to use for repairs haha! Thank you for your suggestion for the runners, we'll take that onboard. :D
Great video 👍 I love that you’ve got the part numbers in the video. I’d have blasted the floor regardless of the budget (horrible job and you can never get every bit of rust + you’ve saved on not using 4 panels already). Subscribed and I don’t own a beetle 😂 (I’ve a ‘71 bay and 5 mini’s (it’s a problem 😂))
Thank you for the great feed back! :D It really was a horrible job, but Shaun was up to the challenge haha! Thank you for the subscribe, sounds like you've got a big collection of cars!
I wish you were more local to Cornwall. I would bring my Morris Minor to you guys, you have done an excellent job.... But then again you're now thinking why would I want to work on a Morris Minor!
We're glad you're enjoying the series! :D I think we'll be going through a rough budget rundown next episodes. Now we've stripped the body and floor pan, we have a clearer idea of what may need doing/replacing.
Hoo using that frontwing for the curve Mmm bit of cheating? Made mine by tacking, clamping, self tapping screws ,beating on the car to get the shape from flat steel Are we going for an older look at the front too?
Great video, packed with useful content.
Thank you for the great feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the video! :D
Nice... You've accomplished a lot already... Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to the next update 👍🏻🛠️
Thank you! We're glad you're enjoying the series so far! :D
Good progress, those wire wheels are good at removing rust.
They are really efficient! Was definitely worth using them, saved us a lot of time.

@ Exactly! Not sure why my post said runners; I meant the rubber seals 😉

Really enjoying this series. Great work, what is the budget, I missed that bit?

Ahhh isn't cheating, just using our initiative! ;)
Well yes it is
I'm a bit jealous of how easy it was for you to make a better easier job of it
Already looking forward to the next video
I wondered if you blokes would call an English wheel just "a wheel". lol
