Phinehas are so underrated man. No trap beats, no synths, no 7-8 string shenanigans (at least it doesn't sound like it), just the purest form of metalcore
Yeah for sure! Good old 2000s style Metalcore, where it was more riffage and not all about excessive breakdowns. Personally I don't mind the use of synths if they aren't overused. Same with 7 and 8 string guitar as long as there's some variety in the music and not all ones and zeroes. I actually recently bought an 8 string and am in the process of doing a cover on it :)
@@IVIaassive yeah sometimes I don't mind the synths. Born of osiris been doing it since day 1 and their shit slaps and I also recently discovered Within the Ruins who I'm liking a lot. As for the 7 and 8 string djentiness I always think to myself I'd prefer this if it had the old school chug sound instead of this
@@Rizwaan122 For sure! BOO is great. With Djent I feel its mostly how it's mixed. Being someone whos played drums just as long as guitar, I like a lot of the sort of percussive grooves to Djent but at the same time the heavily edited digital mix can kind of ruin it and its hard to find bands that stand out. I'm pretty much in the middle when it comes to old school vs newer metal for the most part as long as its instrumentally appealing to me I'm happy

Hey, Thanks a lot!!! I've been working on the tone for a while now. I'm still not 100% happy with it but its getting there. I've always liked the avenger bodies. I just happened to get lucky one day at my local music store and found that one on clearance. Yeah, Phinehas is pretty awesome when it come to riffage and overall songwriting. I'll be sure to check out your channel :)

@@thelastkingband Yeah I've been a fan ever since I took one for a test run while shopping for my second guitar (just couldn't afford it at the time). I was actually looking at getting a custom Schecter built but they are sure pricey. I ended up going with a Kiesel instead, which I'm sure is well worth the money. Thanks, that means a lot. I've definitely got my weaknesses but that's what practice is for :) Of Course, I always like finding new artists. Kudos on the new album by the way! Sounds Great!
