Обыграла и в Риге, Турков, я там был и отыграла в Турции, где их встречали не подобаюче любой стране, за что им должно быть стыдно, но справедливость востержествовала и Латвия поехала дальше. Прекрасный был и сезон и год. Да, на чемпионате не прошли в плэй офф, но как играли, Чехи не понимали что на сила на них упала, Немцы не понимали откуда боевой дух у этих ребят. Но мало кто знает и прекрасно помнит вся Латвия, как это нас сплотило, как мы встретили Ребят у аэропорту и любовью и гордостью и слдезами, одно и тоже приходило слово всем на ум " Спасибо". В тот год мы были по настоящему земляками, соседями, друзьями. Я когда в дали от Латвии, от её идеологии, политики и направления, я не могу равнодушно вспоминать эти дни, все такие дни. Я прилетаю в Ригу, я смотрю разным не знакомцам, прохожим в глаза, я прекрасно понимаю, я вижу, я чувствую, как они скучают по этим дням, как они грустят и многие забыли, что такое когда мы в обнимку и любя, трвердили "Мы семья". Спасибо за те дни.....
Был классный нападающий который играл в Киевском Динамо не игрок а просто бомбардир Верпаковских мне очень нравилось его игра помню как в те годы забил гол Реалу Мадриду в лиге чемпионов Салам из Азербайджана

I know it's hard to understand for you whose team regularly plays in European Championships, but Latvia has never been a football nation and making a comeback from 0-2 to 2-2 against Turkey at their home and win in total with 3-2 - YES IT WAS HISTORICAL, because Latvia went to Euro 2004 for the first time (and seems for a long time the only one).
I remember this game, sometimes it doesn’t matter who plays better, its all about getting the goals in you need ;) would like to note we never were able to beat Latvia after this, three games and all ended in a draw.
I will never forget this match Latvia did a good come back in last minute and goes to EURO CUP . This was like a knife in my heart i was very angry but this is football : You can win or you can lose is just a game nothing more but international football matches are the best , because your own country played thats why !

Well, it is normal for Latvia to loose against Liechtenstein. In Latvia we have professional football only on paper. We don't have any system here. Whilst Turkey has great system, lots of stadiums, long history clubs etc. But back then you have lost to the bunch of guys that had massive nuts, brave hearts and enormous power of will to win.
