Legit props to Rowan for his acting in this and the script writers as well. It was really well done in how this skit went from a "haha look at silly Rowan" bit to something much more profound and emotional in just a few minutes and Rowan's acting is perfectly portraying someone going through the stages of grief and regret.
We once made a cardboard cutout of our supervisor sitting at his desk on the phone. We would put it in his office when he went to lunch, and so many people would fall for it and start talking to him, before realizing it was not real. So much fun! :D
There are like eight different shirts of our store manager on weird seasonal shirts. Someone’s wearing one almost every day. I’m almost too afraid to ask. Almost.

We already knew this cause of Baelin’s Route and so many other sketches, but it has to be said again: Rowan Bettjeman is one Hell of an actor!!!! All these latest episodes of Bored have so incredibly balanced comedy over Rowan’s denial/craziness with genuinely missing Alan and having no idea how to process it. Rowan’s acting is so good that he can make you feel both those things at all the right moments, and it’s awesome! 👏👏👏
Wow the love Rowan has for Alan. This explains a lot when Rowan didn’t realize he was married with kids. His heart belongs to Alan. I hope they one day get reunited.
Too good, you guys. Such a range of emotions, from Adam's exasperated concern, to Britt's walking on eggshells, to Ellie's schadenfreude, to Rowan's denial. Just wonderful. Excellent sketch.
I love how each episode sincd Alan's departure is just Rowan going through the stages of grief. First episode was Denial - He stood at the door throughout the episode, smugly confident that Alan would come back even though Adam and everyone else believed otherwise. Second episode was anger - He pretty much called a meeting just to talk badly about Alan. Third episode (this one) is Bargaining - In this, he tries to adjust to Alan's absence by using a s*x doll with Alan's face on it. Next two episodes (if it goes that far) will definitely have Rowan depressed and finally accepting Alan is gone for good.
No way Alan is gone for good. Rowan resurrected Adam from his own funeral because he needed him at work. Alan IS coming back, but I just don’t know how

Man this better end with Rowan making a romcom speech in the rain to get Alan back.
That would be hilarious!
Ellie is great in this. Her facial expressions, and obvious enjoyment in watching Rowan's mental break down are just hilarious.
Fact
Psycho reveal...
Ellie does it for me in these.....her face and giddiness at all of it.......I LOVE IT, LAUGH SO HARD AT HER!
Now adam knows how he felt when alan want them to backed him up
Good point.
five stages of grief:
denial - check
anger - check
bargaining -
depression -
acceptance -
Would this episode be Bargaining? Can't get real Alan so he gets the doll instead. The team meeting could be anger
Anger was last episode when he had them write bad things about Alan
It's been a lot of episodes of denial at this point, but I think we're at the end of denial now
@@twbrowning90 It seems he's gone back to denial again so we are starting from scratch.
Denial doesn’t really leave intil you come to acceptance.
Legit props to Rowan for his acting in this and the script writers as well. It was really well done in how this skit went from a "haha look at silly Rowan" bit to something much more profound and emotional in just a few minutes and Rowan's acting is perfectly portraying someone going through the stages of grief and regret.
I agree but Alan acting was top notch as well
@@melvilleseguyhouel3168Indeed, Alan really hit a home run on this one.
Coping mechanism be like.....
Techtown: So sad Rowan just so sad..
😂😆🥰
We once made a cardboard cutout of our supervisor sitting at his desk on the phone. We would put it in his office when he went to lunch, and so many people would fall for it and start talking to him, before realizing it was not real. So much fun! :D
There are like eight different shirts of our store manager on weird seasonal shirts. Someone’s wearing one almost every day.
I’m almost too afraid to ask. Almost.
how do you fall for something like that their brain must be mush
@@nickojackson4820 I know, but they would be so caught up in their own thing, they would walk up to his door and start talking to him before realizing it was a cut out... and hearing us all laughing at them. :D
Seriously. Rowan is a phenomenal actor. The switch from comedy to crazy is flawless.
For the most part of his character those two things have been one and the same
I mean.... he was in Avatar...
And Spartacus
Ellie's and Brit's faces plus captions are priceless, I'm kinda glad the doll got popped as at the end there I thought this was going to take a turn for the weird......er weirder? Rowan just needs his buddy back and admit that he was wr...w...w..wrong (not a word that Rowan's used to using) next will be him stalking outside Alan's home a-la The Breakfast Club with a boombox held over his head trying to say sorry.....but maybe it's Toulait to 'pologise.
Nice callback to their obscure history lol.
Not joking, Rowan is an awesome actor. All of them do a great job.
Also, let's not forget that Rowan had a pivotal role in the highest-grossing film of all time, Avatar. Truly a versatile actor.
Poor Rowan, as you can tell his mental health is slowly declining.
Slowly? He goes down faster than a british battlecruiser at Jutland
imagine if a customer walked in during this
Best opening line ever!
Wow the love Rowan has for Alan. This explains a lot when Rowan didn’t realize he was married with kids.
His heart belongs to Alan.
I hope they one day get reunited.
okay, what were those posters with "SkyCraft - November 2" on the background? 3:19
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed
*F-boy laugh * tell whoever does the captions that i love them🤣🤣
I just don't know where this storyline is going, anymore.
Alan! You look...different, did you do something to your hair mate?
Yeah, looks like he got a fade
Ellie's willingness to go down the rabbit hole is what makes this all so great.
E
This has got to be Alan's greatest work. I mean to be able to keep a straight face during this whole skit bravo.
Nah. Pretty hard to top NPC Greg.
I watched this episode when it was still called "blow up Alan".
Something tells me, Alan has been buying stuff from their store but they Rowan can't even recognize him without the red shirt
"Alan! You're back!"
Ellie is the *worst* enabler, and I love it.
Im glad he's finally back, I was worried Rowan would've gone insane if he stayed away any longer.
**Ellie enjoys it type of Smile** and
**Britts concerned about it type of Frown**
...
PEAK
3:00 DESTRUCTION OF COMPANY PROPERTYYY!!!!
Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression... he's speedrunning the 5 stages of grief
Too good, you guys. Such a range of emotions, from Adam's exasperated concern, to Britt's walking on eggshells, to Ellie's schadenfreude, to Rowan's denial. Just wonderful. Excellent sketch.
I was afraid that Rowan thought he'd killed Alan. The fact that he admitted that wasn't the real Alan was a real relief.
Rowan even put chest hair on Alan, he really knows him WELL XD
I hope that's all the hair he put on Alan.
@@abydosianchulac2 🤨
making alan leave was the best idea for new content and fun i love that, like every one i want him to be back now
Can you link me the video you're referencing? I had no idea he left
@@KoriyeO like 3 or 4 episode before
So he didnt actually leave @@lucaslandais1575
Omg the rubbery sounds during the hug😂😂
VLDL knows how to make things disturbing
My favorite part 😂
It really added to the scene
@VivaLaDirtLeague yes, but who are you???
Rowan? Britt? Someone behind the cameras?
@@xitaris5981 Probably Tara, she's hired by VLDL for media stuff
And then Alan walks into the shop, buys something small, but because he isn't in any uniform, Rowan doesn't recognise him.
Rowan and Adam are fantastic actors. The emotions they portray in this one are just so raw. And Ellie has been great with the dark comedy bit lately
I thought that Allen stole the show on this one.
Alan really was the best in this one though
You spelt "Allan" wrong
@@randomlyfactual1943 Didn't you misspell his name, too? 🤔 😆
@@PrayingForTruth 😭
I love how each episode sincd Alan's departure is just Rowan going through the stages of grief.
First episode was Denial - He stood at the door throughout the episode, smugly confident that Alan would come back even though Adam and everyone else believed otherwise.
Second episode was anger - He pretty much called a meeting just to talk badly about Alan.
Third episode (this one) is Bargaining - In this, he tries to adjust to Alan's absence by using a s*x doll with Alan's face on it.
Next two episodes (if it goes that far) will definitely have Rowan depressed and finally accepting Alan is gone for good.
and then Alan gets hired as independent contractor because things ain't working without him!
@@filippopielski5634 Or it'll turn out Rowan has him tied up in a basement somewhere.....
it might have covered the last two at the en of this
So in the last one, he will accept that Alan is dead. Oh, wait ...
;)
No way Alan is gone for good. Rowan resurrected Adam from his own funeral because he needed him at work. Alan IS coming back, but I just don’t know how
I like how Ellie quickly filled Alan's role of being the person so done with Rowan's bs that you just roll with it
She's always been this way. The difference is that Ellie almost always doesn't care how bad things get and Alan tried to change things
I'm glad you guys upload other Mini -series as well, or I'd be worried Alan left VLDL, due to how long he's been gone from Bored already 😅
Alan is probably holding the camera here.
