This is just my interpretation, but the clones are trying to get as close as possible to the droids so they can be in range of actually hitting the droids. Their carbine blasters aren’t going to be of use if they’re 300 feet out, so it’s either (a) stay at your guaranteed cover, but you’re not going to be of use whatsoever, or (b) make a run for it to find cover that’s closer to the enemy, so you can actually hit something, but there’s a risk of getting shot in No-Mans-Land. The only things I can see being efficient at that far away of a range would be the AT-TE, but it’s incredibly exposed at the bridge and is at risk of being attacked, so the clones are probably trying to draw their fire by running out from cover, so they’re in the line of fire and attention is drawn away from the tank. They also have air support that is capable at that range, but it’s clear that they’re occupied. It makes sense in my head. Meme is funny though
They only start to run for cover once Obi-Wan shows up, and they have to run back to do that. They're quite literally avoiding cover to charge the enemy.
It could be that they’re running towards cover. As they do if you let the scene play out. But yknow. Food for thought

@@TK-9851 no. If you let the clip play out, when obi wan arrives, that’s when they made it to the cover. It was their destination
@@StarWarsHour Dude, rewatch the battle. They run back.
