@@NuFish curry powder, turmeric, and cayenne is my latest fave. I mix it in with my pack bait ( similar to a method mix bit breaks down in 3 minutes or less).

Good test Joe & Sam, As Joe said Barston has carp anglers so the fish will be tuned into flavours. I would suggest a test on a non-carp anglers water 👍🏻. I think before using flavours it all depends on the fishery and what the fish are tuned into. Great insight though
Hi. Joe, interesting result that, you also mentioned about your shock leader, could you do a short video on how you tie it to the main line, what knots etc, much appreciated...
I tried this in my garden pond with micro pellets. The Koi Carp definitely move to the flavoured pellets first if they are put in a polybag on the bottom. It doesn't seem to matter if the pellets are thrown in. So I think sight and sound is just as important as smell. It's no surprise to me that Carp anglers use flavours cos they are fishing static baits hard on bottom. Sight and sound do not play a part in their method of fishing.
Good Video and good Venue. Last time I fished it was from Peg 65. Not conclusive as it might be related what you said at the beginning. Fish could be located on the Left or right side. Also should have used identical hook baits with your preferred Additive. Many other variables could affect the catch rate. Nice fish though. This would be more interesting in the summer when the fish are more active I think. At the end it was a nice Boys day out fishing on the Job. Cheers Guy's
It's interesting! and while more bites would have made things easier in terms of a conclusion, the fact that the flavour got the result on a rock hard day (there was just two fish caught on the match yesterday and one the day before we filmed on the dam) is food for thought. The attractive hook bait is also part of the package in our opinion.
Squid Brand "Fish Sauce" £2.40 for 725 ml, that's well over a pint from Sainsburys. Don't always, get sucked in by the "Tenner a Pop +" stuff from tackle shop !! 77% Fish (anchovies, no squid it says) 20% salt, 3% sugar.
Good insight gents. I would question how can you create exactly the same scenario and environment on to different swims. The only possible way to see this working and understand it, is in neutral testing environments. You would have to have a pool of a good size, deposit two areas of contrasting bait, equal distances apart and release fish into the pool at an equal distance from both bait areas. For me, there are too many variables in any testing you’ve shown. I do appreciate an insight into different methods and bait approaches. Good luck if you travel further down this rabbit hole! 👏👏👏
Hi John, Joe used a 12ft 6in Distance Master with an extremity reel loaded with 6lb detexion with a 10lb detexion shocker. sam went for a 4.2m distance master with a castizm reel again with the detexion combo.
Never going to be a bombproof scientific test in winter for me, fish can gather in one peg and not be in even the next peg. For what it's worth, I do think some additives help in certain conditions, oils and such. Hard to create an equal test for me. But props for trying.
How can I make luncheon meat float . Thinking of wafter style different texture and colour . plus pellet shape different from the lazy boy meat cutter cubes ..
I’ve been getting good results on banoffee flavour on my micros and soft pellets for the F1s, but saying that I’ve also done well on just plain old red maggots this winter… I’m on the fence at the moment. Oh well done Fulham. 😂😂😂😂
Another YT'er has been experimenting using flavours only. No bait in the feeder. He has soaked flavours into sponge loaded feeders. I think his channel is "fish with den". He calls it a flavour feeder. It definitely brought fish into his swim. Maybe this is a method suited to winter fishing when we don't want to put any bait in. He did state in the comments that the feeder was heavy on the retrieve due to soaking up water, but I think that can easily be overcome using aquarium filter sponge instead of dense household sponge. Aquarium filter media is available in several varying densities. Interesting concept no doubt.
@@NuFish Hi Joe. With regard to the above comment, my channel is actually called Fishing with Den. I have now moved on from the initial experiments with the Winter Flavour Feeders which do away with the glued in foam. I also have some versions of normal Summer Feeders which incorporate a mechanism to disperse flavours separately from the groundbait. All feeders are 3D Printed . The video for these will be out soon.
Proves absolutely nothing on a venue like that. Many, many times one bloke can catch, and the bloke next to him can struggle . Then you use different hookbaits 😂
Where would you suggest trying it? because at Barston for instance you both will just catch all day long regardless? And the hook bait thing is interesting because in our opinion that is part of the flavour package!
@NuFish punched bread has no flavour, and we catch plenty on that. Some of the lads even swear by it when the water colour is really murky! Boddington at this time of year is all about finding 1 or 2 fish at various distances. Over Saturday and Tuesday, I've had 13 carp from 68m to 94m with bite times of 3mins to 32mins but I've been on 2 good pegs 🤷🏼
Both fish pellet on the hook one out the bag one flavoured would of been a better test i think, Always enjoy your videos Joe, just a little niggle on this one. @@NuFish
Lol as a genuine university Professor, in terms of research methodology … this is a laugh! Needed both anglers to use exactly the same everything except the flavour on the bait . This proves nothing .
How is a test for the additive if your not using the same hook bait, which could be the difference not the smell 👍🏼
With you 100% mate, not a true test otherwise.
Confidence is key I guess! I like smelly baits when the water is coloured. Nice video!
Thanks for watching!
For me it has to be F1 sweet all through the year, but it's what goes on the day!
Saying that, had good days with salt and garlic.
Mix flavours together... Whatever groundbait you use add a cup of special g green to it.. use the cupping in cup
They definitely work for me, here in the US.
Sure you can catch without them, but I often outfish my buddies when I use certain additives in my bait.
Awesome what additives are you using 😅

Yes we have spoken about it today and will do another but as with all fishing there are so many variables!
What terminal setup are you using for the fishing, in terms of rods and reels?

As a match angler how do you use the liquid liver, as a glug or dilute it as a pellet soak?
Dilute it as a pellet soak 👍🏻

Yea very difficult 👍🏻 we will have a few more goes and maybe over the course of several sessions a pattern could emerge
If I could speak to fish I'd ask what's the,big thing about sweetcorn?
To do this test properly you should go on a bagging venue and swap pegs half way through the session
We will give it a go in the summer.
You can't compare if you don't use the same bait.
How can I make luncheon meat float . Thinking of wafter style different texture and colour . plus pellet shape different from the lazy boy meat cutter cubes ..
Meat is almost wafter style once submerged in deeper water anyway 👍🏻
Should use straight pellets with pellets as hookbaits first then one of you use liquid, only way to be fair
I think its a confidence thing, if you think it makes a difference go ahead.
Ya can't beat a bit of bacon salt.🎣🎣🎣
Sounds great
what kind of baf additive you are using in this video?
Bovril
What feeder rods are you using lads? Cheers

Well it was too late in the day to do so as the bites came very late!

Hi joe what strength tip would you use for method feeder fishing cheers
I just use a 3oz in this scenario and would happily go to 4oz if casting even further
Word is that Tesco have sold out of Bovril and the red sausage
Ha ha ha up the Bovril
only using same rigs and bait will you know otherwise its floored

Plenty of salt content.so great for carp ,f1 and Bertie bream ...
