Shelf Notes: It’s rare for techno music to feature spoken word-style accompaniments, but I think it works well here. Kelly Mark’s narration conjures a lazy character. She relates the troubles which weigh on her mind: paying off her student loans, eating more vegetables, waking up on time, updating her resume. At least some of these should resonate with the average techno listener but, even if they don’t, this song is enjoyable, if a little strange.
