I’ve always grown garlic in pots, never had a problem either!! Last year I planted supermarket garlic, that grew fantastic! This year I bought ‘gardeners’ garlic. Some have already shot up!
Yes Tony i grow my Garlic in buckets as well the only difference from the way you doing it is instead of dumping the quad grow capillary mats i put them in the bottom of the buckets before i fill with compost helps to stop the buckets drying out in the summer
I have grown garlic in 30 litre pots for the past 3 years with some success. 12 cloves per tub in mid Octoberr works well. Thick mulch of chopped straw on top and then 'plant' the bottom 2-3 inches of the pots into soil and leave until June.
We had decent production of garlic last year in the ground so I don't need to grow any this year. Previous years I grew in large grow bags and ground. It feels good to have some stowed away, though! 😊 This is the first year we are storing in the freezer in vacuum sealed mason jars, though. In the past that seems to be the best for us here in Florida. No cold storage is easily available for us. 😮💨
I put my ones in the bin as bought some capillary mating ffrom Hales garden centre that was better and you can save it as it lasts long than what you get with the pot system
Hi Tony, your plot is looking good. I bought 3 bags of farm manure today in the hooe ot will add some good nutrients to my beds in the, spring. Hopefully it will help my plants grown better. My garlic is in a few weeks ago, we always get rust but, i still grow it. Your cabbage is lovely, grear update. Thanks for sharing and take care
Are we the only ones but we never buy or grow garlic, personally I do not like it. I do have 40 over wintering onion sets ‘Senshyu Yellow’ in buckets outside which all have green shoots approx 6”+ tall.
Tony , i lm not sure ifvl you realise? but by putting soil in the buckets from your raised bed you could well be introducing onion white rot to the buckets which really defeats the object . I hope not, good luck.

That was a great looking savoy what we saw of it, voice over Tony is always hilarious!
Nothing better than freshly picked cabbage, so crisp and juicy.
Seeing your savoy cabbage makes me want to raise some next year. We have a 100 garlic out input garden.
Keep up the good work!
I wouldn't re-use those fabric strips. If you had any disease, it would just carry over to the new crop.
Just to say like your video great job looking forward to seeing the next one
I use clean capillary matting every season. I have the same matting you bought and works fine.
We just planted 3 varieties of hard neck garlic - Estonian, Red Russion and Yugoslavian. We are in the south-west corner of British Comumbia, Canada.

the ravens got all my garlic - it is the only thing they come for. Must be Italian.
I've ordered some seed potatoes from grown local, I forgot to use your code though 😅
The veggie plot man uses J cloths in his self watering system if that helps. Tony. Happy gardening 🙂

You’ll be making fermented garlic pickle next year Tony! 😅
How many bulbs did you in each tub please Tony? I'm reusing my potatoes pots. (and soil) and some in the greenstalk. I love your videos! X
