Love hearing hot water music get brought up! Killer songs and the production of their last 3-4 albums has been phenomenal. They don’t get acknowledged enough imo! Great review btw.
I have one of the first PRS Sweet 16 amps, which has 6V6 tubes. Could you do a tone comparison of it vs the DGT amp? The Sweet 16 controls include preamp gain, treble, middle, bass, master volume, reverb and bright switch. I have the matching 2 x 12 cab with a special open back panel and Celestion V30 speakers. I sometimes swap in WGS green beret and ET65 speakers to tame an overly bright Strat a friend of mine plays.
I like the bypassable master volume. I haven't seen them in many amps, I know the Boogie transatlantic had/has them. Someone made an active master volume a few years ago. It was supposed to keep the tone from flubbing out at low volume. I can never remember who the company was, and haven't been able to. I just remember it was a company I attributed more to pedals.
PRS amps have that thick growly Jerry Cantrell vibe that almost hits full metal but stops just short of it. Like getting hit with a wall of harsh rawk. I gotta get one someday.
Why because he won't sale the same guitar that's been sold since the 50's, scratch it up, and mark it up thousands of dollars just because it looks distressed? Or maybe reissue the same guitar every few years and just rename it the vintage II or American vintage. Or maybe he should be crucified because he cares so much about quality control that the company has garnered a reputation for consistency of quality amongst many in the business as well as distributors.
I was all into it until you said EL84. Sorry, not buying another version of EL84 Tube Power Section Amp. There are literally thousands of these amps. All with the EL84 power tubes. Question: How different can they really be? Metal, Blues, In between all use the EL84 power section. I own enough of these. Yawn, waiting for something new.

ok but did Paul say what kind of tonewood it's made of?
It’s always crazy to me how this old man lives rent free in kids heads

It's literally a PRS amp.
Don't use phrases you don't understand.

@@hughjanus5518 aw poor triggered kid. The tonewood thing is irrelevant here. Own it.

Nailed the hot water music-type sound! Love it!
What a lovely and balanced tone this has. Reminds me of my old Mesa Tremoverb dual rec. Great review Ryan as always. Cheers to you from London.

Heard Grissom play a pair of these last weekend…sounded great.

Looking more forward to your Boss Katana Gen 3 demo ;)
Would it take a rev pedal or a mesa rec pedal and pull off heavy tones if needed?
Hard to tell much about the amp with the OD on...
Tells thousands of us guys all we need to know,I personally could care less about the cleans and half the subscribers feel the same
Love it. Good Vid man. Thank You!!!
Sounds like an Orange amp gain wise…and that’s not a bad thing
@user-ri3gh6yb5k its a vox clone but with a negative feedback loop i think, hence the presence control
Really thought we'd see the black PRS custom 22 for this one. Killer tune.
That thing sounds amazing.
I like it, even though it's not a metal amp, seems very versatile.
If you don’t use trem much you should listen to the David Grissoms Storyville album - A piece of your soul and you’ll know what to do with it.
You my friend are a tone achiever…I can fiddle with an amp for days and never get it to sound good🫤
Not a fan of rock guitar sounds but damn that thing sounded amazing
It's like a PRS version of santana's first boogie amp
Crazy how your views have went down over the years from a over a million to barely breaking 10k for some reason
I'll stick with my HDRX 20. Didn't like the sound with the EL-84's.
El84- your favorite HAHA
Dude right
Sounds like snot!
Top cut and a presence control seems doesn’t make any sense to me
Paul Reed Smith is a greasy salesman. I'm no longer interested in any of his snake oil.

oh no!! I'm sure Paul's crushed!!! probably put of business soon:(
I'm not sure if 'snake oil' is an accurate term to describe PRS products
@@yrmthr "Tone tuning keys". I rest my case.
First!
I'm not impressed. My Peavey mini 20 watt tube sounds better to me at 1/2 the cost. Paying for a name here.
Wast of a good amp bro
Sounds crap, Buy the Yamaha thr instead and save cash
To expensive
you mean too?

How to make an amp sound like dog shit. Watch you channel.

I think you're thinking about EL34s. EL84 is more vox style voicing
Tubes have no sound.
