    RULES:
    The object of the game is to be the first player to be awarded 3 danger cards. Setup. Shuffle the decks and deal 3 tool cards and 3 skill cards to each player. Players may look at the cards in their own hand, but should keep them hidden from their opponents. Whoever lives life most dangerously goes first.
    On your turn, you are the victim and must draw the top card from the Danger deck, read it aloud then place it in front of you. You may expand on the scene by adding whatever details you like. Once finished, the other players, the rescuers, must select 1 tool card and 1 skill card from their hand that they think will be best for rescuing the victim from the current danger. The rescuers place these cards facedown in front of themselves.
    Once all the cards have been chosen, the player to the left of the victim goes first and flips their cards faceup. They then must explain how, when equipped with their tool and skill, they would accomplish the task of saving the victim from the danger.
    Once the explanation is over the victim and other players may poke holes in the rescuer’s explanation, but the final say is always left to the victim. The rescuer can defend their explanation if they like. After all the objections are cleared up, the next rescuer to the left reveals their cards.
    After all the rescuers have explained their rescue plan, the victim must decide who had the best one and awards them with the danger card. All other cards in play are discarded, and each player draws until they have 3 tool and 3 skill cards in their hand. The player left of the victim becomes next round’s victim and this process repeats until one player has collected 3 danger cards and is declared the winner.
    For added fun, you may choose to play with the plot twist rule variation. The normal rules are the same except for the following: At the start of the game, shuffle the plot twist deck and deal 1 plot twist card to each player. During a rescue explanation, before the rescuer has finished talking, any player may play a plot twist card and force the current player to incorporate the newly added detail into their explanation.
    Plot twist cards are specific to Dangers, Tools, and Skills, and must be played beside the corresponding card as indicated by the matching color. Only one plot twist may be played on each danger, tool, or skill card and they are only active on the player they were played on.
    At the end of the round, discard all the plot twist cards in play and the rescuers who were not awarded the danger card, each draw 1 new plot twist from the top of the deck. There is no limit to the number of plot twist cards a player can hold in their hand. The first player to collect 3 danger cards is the winner.
    The final rule variant you can play with is the dastardly variant. The most deviant player is the villain and the rest of the players are the heroes. Deal 3 tool cards and 3 skill cards to each player. The Villain draws 1 Danger card for each Hero that is playing.
    Each Hero picks a skill and places it facedown on the table. When every hero has done this, reveal all the skills by flipping them face up. Next, the villain places a danger card from his hand, face up, in front of each of the heroes. Then the heroes choose and place a tool card facedown in front of themselves.
    Once all the tool cards have been chosen, the player to the left of the Villain goes first and flips their tool card faceup and explains how they would use their skill and tool to overcome the danger and defeat the villain. Once their explanation is finished, the next player clockwise goes.
    After each hero has had a turn, the villain decides which hero best escaped the danger and thwarted them by awarding that player a danger card. Discard all the cards in play and the player left of the villain becomes the villain for the next round. All the heroes draw until they have 3 tool and 3 skill cards in their hand, then the process repeats until 1 player has acquired 3 danger cards and is declared the winner.

    You can reveal this card in your hand; your opponent randomly chooses 1 card from your entire hand, then you discard the chosen card. Then, if the discarded card was not "Danger! Bigfoot!", Special Summon 1 "Danger! Bigfoot!" from your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is discarded: You can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Danger! Bigfoot!" once per turn.

      The villain chooses what danger to place the player in!

    • @JannPoo
      @JannPoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That's the issue I see in this game. You better play with people that want to play for fun and not to win and that aren't biased toward any particular player.
      The villain variant seems less problematic since the judge can't win, but they could still favor a friend.

    • @Vearru
      @Vearru 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JannPoo Even more issue though is even if you are playing for fun and not to win the group might not want to end the game right away because they are having fun with what cards they have and so they still don’t want to pick the person who would win the game. So really I think this game would be better played by simply setting a time limit or a number of rounds and going until that is done, and then rather than having a winner at the end of that have a top rescuer, or in the villain version have a most powerful hero.

    New Rule: Saboteur
    This goes with the villain gamemode
    The player to the right of the villain is considered the saboteur
    The Saboteur is not given a danger card
    At discussion phase, the saboteur grabs 3 plot twist cards, and can "sabotage" the discussing player. Once the next person discusses, put all plot twist cards you didn't use at the bottom of the deck and draw three more. Repeat until discussion phase ends
    The villain will be the new Saboteur

    If a player has two danger cards, then why would the victim ever choose that players story?. It would end the game and the victim would lose.. So each game would have everybody holding two danger cards, and the victim would be unable to win, as they would have to choose the winner.

      @a.t.fa.t.f7031 2 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I mean, if you are very competitive then yes. If you are playing the game for fun (which I am assuming most people are/will) then its just whoever manages to get the 3 best explanations. A bit like CAH but the person who picks knows who played what.

      @whatd0605 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@kevelimlane265 I don't think that would quite solve the problem. As long as the Victim always knows who played what and who has the most and least number of danger cards, they can always just pick someone with the lowest or tied for lowest. The game would always end with the winning player having a lead of 1 or being tied for first.

    • @videogamerNattie98
      @videogamerNattie98 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@whatd0605 Imma have to go with A.T.F on that one if very competitive then yes but this game is not about winning similar to card games like Superfight its about the crazy stupid scenarios and situations you and your friends end up in that is discussed amongst the table and how good are you at using what you have to negotiate the situation to your favor. So taking it seriously like that ruins the point of the game and turns it into a simple and pointless number game that undermines the point of why your playing.

  • @Vearru
    @Vearru 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The issue with this game is of course the winning mechanic, if you are playing to win it doesn’t make sense to go with the best story every time if it’ll give an opponent the winning danger. Of course this game doesn’t seem to be best suited to a lot of competition, so it would be better to play for fun with a little bit of friendly competition.
    Even more issue though is even if you are playing for fun and not to win the group might not want to end the game right away because they are having fun with what cards they have and so they still don’t want to pick the person who would win the game.
    So really I think this game would be better played by simply setting a time limit or a number of rounds and going until that is done. Then rather than having a winner at the end of that have a top rescuer, or in the villain version have a most powerful hero.
