Chata wasn’t the best skater. But he was a great shut down dman and he improved as he got older. So there’s that. You don’t need him to atickhandle around anyone. He just needs to be able to make that defensive play and first pass out. That’s it.

Hes a project. They wanted his rights and got them without waiting for him to be a UFA. He will go straight to NFLD at the end of the college year to see what he has.

He only averages less than a minute in penalties per game, I know this can mean he doesn't fight but still has a physical game, but he maybe he's on the Pierre engvall side of physicality. Idk
@@brandonhall9959 fighting isn’t allowed in NCAA. Not saying he would or wouldn’t be, but it’s an important piece of context.
@@scuzzball710 Good point. I'm sure there are fights in NCAA, they get the 5 min fighting penalty and the 10 minute game misconduct, and there is the old 2 min instigator which im sure they give out freely in the league where fighting is disallowed. Minute still pile up
When I see a 6'6 player usually I assume they are physical, but over time I've been shown to be wrong, engvall being the example I gave.
Regarding this kid I've heard he's an excellent shot blocker, I have heard the reason Carolina traded him was because they weren't sure if they could sign him before he became ufa.
Seems pretty tough, he's likely slotted to be similar to a zadorov type. Which is a really good top 6d, time will tell.
