I've never been much of a multi-pen user, though the old Bic multi-pens were fun when I was a kid, but I recently tried the Jetstream 4 & 1 metal, and was impressed enough to go ahead and buy the 3 & 1 Prime, which suits me a little better. I do have occasion to use both red ink and pencil in my daily work, and I've now made this pen my daily carry. It's slim profile and professional look make it an easy choice. Though it's not as slim as the Pilot Acro 1000 I was carrying, it writes just as beautifully and it is certainly no bulkier than most modern machined pens. Comes in an attractive package as well, if you're looking for a gift.

Hey Sal. I'm interested in getting the Uni Jetstream Prime 3&1. Read a few reviews that it was too heavy. I looked up comparisons (Sarasa Grand, G2 Limited, Pentel Philography and Alloy). The Philography comes in with the highest weight at 26 grams while the Prime 3&1 is 30 grams. I can write comfortably with the Philography. In your opinion, is there a significant weight difference between the two or would you say they feel just about the same? Also, does one feel more comfortable in the writing position than the other? Thanks.

What would you prefer? Can you deploy the 4 and 1 using only 1 hand?

If you prefer gel refills like the EnerGel lr line what refills would you recommend for this particular pen. Also, due to its shape at the tip would you say the weight is similar to a Zebra Sarasa Grand from the vintage line with the matte finish?

Hello, I was wondering if you could check the sturdiness of the mechanical pencil part. In some multipens, the part where you open to put more lead is also where the current-using lead is, so a lot of times a little impact will snap the lead (this happens ALL the time on the SKILCRAFT). Try opening the prime up and put a little bend pressure on one side. Does the lead you're currently using snap?

I like that infinite twisting mechanism, even if it might take a little longer to change colours. I'm surprised the first model doesn't have a pencil though.

when you close the pen ( pointing the clip between 2 colour marks) , does it have a tendency to twist on its own? after paying so much for a pen, the last thing anybody want is the pen opening in his pocket . thanks

The piece of rubber on the end of the 3&1; some people have said that it acts as a touchescreen stylus. Is this true?

its suppose to be used to turn pages on a book.

it’s really sturdy... idk the buckling force to bend it, but it’s thick enough to resist a LOT of force
