This video is great. I am an anglophone and whenever I see a Polish word or name I always mispronounce it. I can not make heads or tails with polish pronunciation. This video helps a lot. Thank you!
This was such a great video, I am very new to learning Polish and will be sure to watch the other videos in the series as well. Very glad I found your channel.
Thank you so much for this Video , I really Enjoy it , I am living in warsaw now , i must speak Polish language even it is hard to speak it but i have to;
Thank you for making it easy for us to learn the letters. I'm Turkish and learning Polish with English examples help a lot. Also we have similar pronunciations in Turkish too.
People from Turkey usually have very good pronunciation in Polish. One day I would like to learn Turkish. I've heard that there are no exceptions unlike in Polish. 🫣
@@PolishwithDorota Turkish can be quite tricky to learn for foreigners but I’m sure you’ll rock it as a teacher yourself! Also yeah my Polish friends say my pronunciation is good too. I really enjoy learning languages and you’re a big help💕
For Poles the pronuncation of "a" is the same. Maybe you hear it differently due to diffrenet consonant. When saying "mama" we open the mouth wider then when saying "tata".
I am totally confused about how they spell "pięć", "więc", "piętro", "pamiętać": 1) is the consonant before "i" hard and then followed by "j" - pjęć, wjęc and so on 2) is the consonant and "i" are read together so that the consonant is "soft" 3) is the consonant soft (like in Ukrainian or Russian) and then followed by "j": p'jęć and so on
Consonants "b", "m", "p" are soft when followed by "i". "Pięć" is [p'jeńć], so the consonant is soft and followed by "j". (YT doesn't show the proper phonetic signs)
You will be understood if you can't roll your R. Even some Polish people can't and they and seeking speech therapist's help. But everyone understands them.

Great lesson! 😊 Thanx!
Thanks madam
Nice are you, Dorota, and this really helps!
Can you tell me why the "a" in mama sounds different to the "a" in tata? Thank-you.
For Poles the pronuncation of "a" is the same. Maybe you hear it differently due to diffrenet consonant. When saying "mama" we open the mouth wider then when saying "tata".
I don't get it if the Polish plan "L" is the same as the English "L". Or is it a soft version like in languages like Russsian/Ukrainian?
I would say that it's more similar to the English "l".
the best video I found
Polish is just like simplified English. Instead of "because of" you use the abbreviation "bo" 😂
😁

@@PolishwithDorota W angielskim nie ma "c".
where is the other N - ń?
