Finding bargains to resell is the "fun" part. Selling on eBay is how you get paid for that fun, but it's more of a J O B than fun. I would much prefer just finding stuff. But being a hoarder is not a good idea, so selling is necessary, whether it's eBay or somewhere else.

For sure, sourcing is a lot of fun. We're running out of storage space though, so we definitely like getting it out of the house and storage unit ASAP!

i stopped ebay because of the fees and dealing with people. Many people would buy after looking at pictures of said items, Receive them and claim its nothing like the photos. I always had 10+ photos with a iphone 13 pro max.

We just had that happen to us! What did we even take all those pictures for if customers aren't checking them? Worst part is our empty collectible boxes - we start off each title with ****EMPTY BOX**** and people still want to return it later because "you didn't tell me it was empty."

The original intent of eBay was for someone to sell, even trade for items not going to Goodwill, Salvation Army, name your thrift store, garage & estate sales to buy cheap or complain about it and fleece eBay buyers on a bid platform only.
l consider TH-camrs who do that as braggers & showoffs sorry but there it is
lt has evolved into doing it for a living and turning thrift stores and garage & estate sales into cut throat ventures so now they have caught onto what's going on and "jacking" there prices to make it unaffordable for lower income folks to shop there
So thanks and if you don't like it or think it's too hard don't partake

We still do some garage sales now and then, but it's mostly for stuff for ourselves. We buy directly from people and stores that treat the stuff we're getting as "junk," that they were planning on throwing away since they saw little or no value in it themselves.
I would say thrift stores and the corps behind them are the crux of the problem you mentioned. They should have been ecstatic with the extra profits they made off of resellers, keeping prices low for people... But they chose to rise the prices instead. 🤷
