I've seen stagings I like better, but Tereshkina is glorious. The only other principal I've seen dance Myrtha was Martine van Hamel with ABT, and I'm not sure why this part is often truncated and relegated to at best soloist work. Tereshkina, like van Hamel, makes this everything you could want from a principal dancer and role.
Love it! Tereshkina's dancing is breathtaking; Myrtha is Queen of the Wili's, not Queen of the pixies. She is meant to be imposing and a bit grin. ( Did you ever " get the Wili's"
Tereshkina is a beautiful and technically excellent Myrtha but unfortunately the applause spoils the action as it is totally inappropriate it should be saved till the end of the section so as not to detract from the mood

There is no need for it - she indulges in being a rhythmic gymnast sur le pointe. No speed in her brisés or entrechat & especially in her tours. She could easily fix this but she doesnt - I mean really, what on Earth is that weak & dinky entrechat quatre @ 1:32 when Petipa's choreography has always called for an entrechat six?!?

In fact, I wish I could see her Myrtha of today which I'm sure is a lot better! But also, don't just blame the dancer for incorrect style, it also falls on the choachea
I don't like Tereshkina's Myrtha at all. Her style is too attacking and not soft enough for this Romantic ballet. Myrtha should be icy, implacable queen without resorting to jerky head and arm movements. A few minor slip-ups, too. She is generally such a great technician - I love her Odile - but for me she just isn't right for this repertoire. But just my opinion.
She is the only ballerina I've ever seen do such a diversity of roles and do them well, including Giselle and Myrtha, Nikiya as well as Gamzatti, etc. She is really my current favorite.

To much applause for a feebly interpretation of Mirtha´s solo. Marianela Nuñez does a better job in this role.
