The real tea is that wigs were actually for the older females back in my day and all the girls are wearing wigs these days, I’m in my mid 40’s.
Are they kidding me, I’m rocking the Freetree Beach Curls (18 inches totally out of my comfort zone as I like shorter hair) right now and I look like in my twenties and I’ve long since bee in my twenties. These people are reaching SO BAD. However I have seen that short curly hair generally esp when laid flat and TOO neat can seem old because thats what the aunties typically have lol. I look VERY youthful in my LONG, natural density crochet and so does my sister. Anything natural looking and long will always look youthful. Let them keep their youthful obvious lace fronts and stiff weaves if they want. I can't wait to be 65 with my LONGG salt and pepper hair.

It’s the inappropriate style choice that ages an individual never the method used to achieve any style. Also, too many ppl like keeping up with the Jones/tends vs. being comfortable with their individual authentic selves! Society has become all around very conditioned & robotic. Freetress Deep Twist and Beach Curl are my favs!!! But I guess I'm missing something, cause I didn't realize crochet hair was for older people? All the tutorials and discussions about crochet hair that I've seen are done by much younger women!! I'll wear crochet hair any day before wearing some of these wigs and fake baby hair!!🤣My grandmother is not wearing no crochet hair, but she is definitely wearing her wigs!!😁

I do crochet hair or human curly half wigs majority of the year and when I do crochet it's usually braids or locs. I feel like when I actually wear my natural hair like in a silk press it makes me look older so I rarely wear it out .

All of those hairs were nice BUT I am obsessed with the current hair you have because it looks almost identical to your own hair when you wore the silk press.
I think as you get older some of us want to continue wearing long hair but being 55+ I just can’t anymore. A lot of times it’s the hot flashes. My own hair is down my back but I wear crochet hair and cut it of my shoulders to feel cooler. But I think even a nice short crochet can make you look sophisticated and youthful as well but like you said it’s the style of it. I’m wearing a Jamaican bounce crochet hair with color that I cut in a short style and I been getting lots of compliments on.

I'll have to try that. 💙 I'm your same age girl, a lot of the hair girls online seem to think we're all seeking the same aesthetic. They dont consider that things are received differently in different cities, and lifestyles. I've had a mostly great experience with crochet hair. I've gotten good compliments and some who have asked why not just wear sewins but I have to do what works for me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I think between time constraints and the HEAT WAVES of menopause, I assumed that's why older women cut their hair. Some of them also looked more youthful to me with the short seemingly "maintenance free" hair.

Lia you have inspired me to finally try crotchet hair for the first time. I installed the beach curl and omg, I was not expecting my family and coworkers to hate it. I’ve been called everything from “lunch lady” to granny. This hair is still thriving after only having it in about 2 weeks but I’m taking it down today cause I can’t get past the mean comments of it making me look older. Ugh!
