I think because Regine Velasquez is the idol and inspiration of Katrina, that's why you their techniques are similar,but another thing is Regine,aside from very powerful belts, also has an effortless belting. She can belt without moving any part of her face just mouth and eyebrows. And also, Regine when she was younger, she's also known for sustaining long high notes.
