I found this to be quite motivational. This fall semester I will be a junior and I decided to declare communications as my major because I realized it is so broad but it i still feel worrisome that I am going to be forever lost. What you said about just taking my time and finding my passions was helpful. I hear it all the time from people, but it’s one of those things that you need to hear when you’re letting the stress blind your path. Thank you~

Nice to see other COMS majors out there who love what they study! I was unsure about it at first, but I feel like so many people would be great in this major. It’s so flexible!

like how the degree does not bind one to one field. here's the thing I went to school to learn a skill now your tell me you should have had skill and used communication enhance it. What I have learned from your video a degree is not the end all. You need to ways be gain new skills and network. Great video.

I’m in community college for Professional Communications and am planning on transferring to a four year once I get my Associate’s to complete this degree.
Explaining what I am majoring in and what I’m planning to do with my degree to the average person who knows nothing about this major is a pain, LOL.
Let’s just say my grandma is disappointed I didn’t go into nursing 🤷🏻‍♀️
Sorry grandma... people’s lives literally being in my hands is not my thing. I can barely keep my beloved goldfish alive (this is a joke, they’re alive and happy-I hope??).

Thank you for this video!! So helpful! So motivated to finish my Communications degree & I graduate Fall 2020! It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do so I switched majors in between and I feel secure in this decision. I enjoy writing as well as the media side to it so hopefully I can do something within the media in the future and who knows maybe even get a Masters in Media!

This is very interesting and inspiring. I decided to choose communication as my major and people kept telling me is a dead end. mainly because they perceive it to be something that is less and you don't make a lot from it. But after watching this video I feel so inspired and not afraid. Thank you so much for this, God bless you. Also, you're so very beautiful and an excellent communicator.

But through my recent internship and more research, I feel that I will be able to find the perfect career with my mass communications degree. Thank you so much for your advice and God bless you.

hella dope video I was gonna do marketing but then came to accept that it's not really a creative degree and found communications but I was worried it was a stupid degree but the overall theme I think online is that you don't have to be a journalist or reporter you can do anything with this degree. Also helps that it includes some of the classes I took in high school so I didn't just take those classes for nothing

I honestly felt better after hearing what you said because I’m currently majoring in communications. I chose that major because I didn’t and still don’t know what I want to do as far as with a career. It’s my last year and I’m worried that I might not find something that I would enjoy doing. There was one point in my junior year where I felt that I should have been an art major because I have a lot of skills with art but seeing your video gave me hope that when I graduate I can find the career that will make me happy 😊

Lil Yusroh I would say try engineering first, if your enjoying the classes and if this is something you really want to do then continue doing it. Now if your not enjoying your self I would say switch. You want to be happy with what you picked and with what your doing.

Thanks! This video was really helpful. I’m gonna be a sophomore in college this upcoming semester and when I first entered college I thought I was gonna be a Comp sci. major but my second semester freshman year comp sci 200 level class was a indicator for me that maybe programming wasn’t for me. However, I’ve been very involved in my campus this past school year and with everything I do I figured beginning a comm major will be the right major for me just because of its flexibility and the large amount of opportunities you have with the major. This video confirmed even more what I was thinking to be true. Thank you!

I’m a junior in high school and this past week I went on a cruise. There was this cruise director Erin and she really inspired me. I love making TH-cam videos and just talking, and helping people etc. she truly made my trip so much better, and I fell in LOVE with the cruise ship, on my first cruise lol. She hosted/planned all the deck parties spoke at the morning shows etc! So would that fall in the line of a communications major???

Super Super I agree with you. Also a lot of companies don’t care what your degree is in. They just want people who have a BA/BS. Obviously if you wanna be a doctor or anything in the healthcare field, engineering or law you might have to have a specific degree. But, a lot of business related careers don’t care what you have a degree in

No you don't have to be an excellent speaker! At my school, Public Speaking is a mandatory class and it really helps you grow as a speaker. BUT there are many comm majors that absolutely hate speaking in front of an audience! Personally, I think it's a good skill to have, but there are so many niches in this major that you could find an area that you are most comfortable in!
