Really helpful, thank you! We'll be there this fall. Never typically think about Port side vs Starboard side. We automatically go to Port side. However, I was encouraged to go Starboard side for our next sailing since Castaway Cay is starboard side. And if you have a verandah, you can hang out and see the whole island. So we are 😁 Does this sound right to you?
Hi Grateful! First, I'm so glad that you found the video helpful. I went back and had a look at the footage to confirm. Our cabin was 9594; which was on the starboard side of the ship. In watching the footage, I noted that the captain backed us into the slip so we didn't end up on the pier side for this docking. From our view from the starboard side we had a very good view of the family beach side of the island. So, yes assuming they always back in to the slip, then the starboard side works best for Castaway Cay. I do have it in the plan to share our experience on Castaway Cay, so stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Love the video and seeing more of Tortola. We were on the Fantasy the first week of April. We did a zip line excursion this time and a jeep tour two years ago on Tortola. (I made a video of both) We did a no cruise excursion on St Thomas and worked out pretty good. PS if you like dad jokes I just started a series of Dad jokes we made on the ship. So check them out 😄
I am thinking of doing this excursion in Feb on the Treasure. What did you tip the tour guide? Also how winding was the road? Did anyone get “car” sick?
Hi Brooke! We generally tip the guides $2 per person. If we feel they were exceptional, we will tip more (closer to $5 per person). The roads really are winding and steep in some places. That said, our little guy who does get car sick from time to time was fine. He was awake for the entire ride there and fell asleep on the way back. I hope this helps and enjoy your trip on the Treasure, we're sailing her this year too!

Thank you so much for your video. I’m going to Tortola in October on the Fantasy. The island drive & beach break is my kind of tour.😊
Hi Debra, I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. I hope you have fun on your trip in October. Thanks for watching and commenting!
