  • Ellen Pompeo talked to Ellen about the importance of equality in Hollywood, and encouraged all women to fight for a seat at the table. The "Grey's Anatomy" star also dispelled departure rumors about her co-stars Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew.

    really agree with Ellen Pompeo that the root of prejudice (racism, class, gender etc) is the belief that someone else's success is at your expense. That there isn't enough for all. The root of capitalism is grounded in the belief that there isn't enough, we are not enough as people and unequal distribution of wealth/resources is justified by virtue of innate unworthiness or superiority of certain groups. Time for change.

      Agree. imo I think the writers want this show to be less of an ensemble and more revolving around Meredith (not to mention Japril has been dead for a few seasons now and with one of them leaving people will stop waiting on them to happen again) April and Arizona aren't that close to Meredith (from what I've read - I haven't been watching consistently since S13 so I've probably missed some stuff) also they're pushing Jaggie pretty hard and April is the "roadblock"

    • @shayleelove220
      @shayleelove220 6 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      this has nothing to do with Ellen. Sarah and Ellen aren’t exactly the closest but Jessica and Ellen have been close ever since Jessica first joined Greys. I blame it on Krista. She’s going to be punching herself in the face once viewers start going down

    • @vanillamarshmallow
      @vanillamarshmallow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @shuu6470
    @shuu6470 6 ปีที่แล้ว +766

    People should stop blaming Ellen for Jessica and Sarah. As much as upset I am for them leaving, I don't think Ellen should be blamed for it. People think everything should be said out loud and tweeted, just because she didn't tweet about them it doesn't mean she wasn't upset. Maybe that's how she is dealing with it. I am sad about Jessica and Sarah, but I know enough to not blame one women's success (which she fought so hard for) for a decision the writers took. STOP PITTING WOMEN AGANIST EACH OTHER.

    • @xoxFashiionxox
      @xoxFashiionxox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Yeah exactly. And also if Grey's decides to drop jessica and sarah bc they can't "afford" them anymore it speaks volumes about the producers. Grey's makes a substantial amount of money and they decide where to spend or save money. It is already outrageous that they decided to pay Ellen less than what i assume they paid Patrick Dempsey, even tho its HER show. Im proud for Ellen, after many years of fighting she finally gets the money she deserves and its awful if that means that they had to drop 2 other co stars. None of it is Ellen's fault.

    • @Shalalacls
      @Shalalacls 6 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      I think it's 100% because of Ellen's pay raise, but not in the way se see it. It just was a way for the producers to "punish her" for all the extra money she demanded. Everyone knew that the elimination of a beloved character for no reason would be immediately attributed to her. Producers are nasty like that.

    • @xoxFashiionxox
      @xoxFashiionxox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      If I'm honest, and considering the mess the production team (and frankly shonda rimes) showed to be with their actors in the last few seasons, it wouldn't surprise me. I see Grey's Anatomy dropping in views with the next season. The storyline currently is very bland and the only characters that keep the show alive are people that have been on for a long time (mer, arizona, april, jackson, alex +jo, owen) and now they want to get rid of two very beloved characters..nah. Its going to make the show worst. Nobody gives a f about the interns either so don't even try to make them main characters lmao. Too bad...it was one of my favourite shows.

    • @xoxFashiionxox
      @xoxFashiionxox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      yeah but i don't think she has the kind of power to say who gets fired, she probably helps direct and maybe write some eps. If thats the case, Ellen PLEASE IMPROVE THE CURRENT STORYLINE its a mess.

    They released Sarah Drew way too soon. I know she is going to be on a new show and that's fantastic for her but she was really the main reason why I still watch Grey's Anatomy. I love Maggie but I don't like Maggie and Jackson together. They will most likely kill off April and that makes me mad.

    I don't blame Ellen for the whole Sarah and Jessica thing, but their reasoning just doesn't sound right. They just started a great storyline with Sarah's character that everyone was interested in. Now they are going to cut that short and kick Sarah off the show because they can't think of a storyline?

      Sarah's gonna star on a different show

      She is, but she didn't plan that. That isn't the reason she left Grey's.

      It's a reboot of the show called Cagney and Lacey from the 1980's. I think it will be on CBS, but I'm not sure when.

      Lol two things one damage control and for sure this whole interview was rehearsed, scripted. For sure Ellen's people called who ever organises the Ellen show asking her to be on to clear to try and clear the air.

    Very eloquently stated thoughts and beliefs! Very happy for women across the board that this topic is finally gaining traction and attention. It honestly benefits not just women but minorities of all types. They're both dead on that there are two seats at the table. Heck there are as many seats as we want there to be! Let's not limit ourselves or each other as that limits our entire society.

    Jessica and Sarah leaves Grey because the Shonda didn t have time to write new stories for them? No inspiration for these beautiful caracters? Shit...lies, lies, lies
