do you think the problem with the straps is your particular case, due to your small wrists? Do you think the palm slider is a must have? Thanks for making this video man, it's taking me weeks to decide which glove between these two buy hahahaha
I don't think so because both the SP8 and SP2 were size small, and the SP8 strap fit me perfectly while the SP2 strap was *WAYYYY* too big! (Imo it was a design flaw from Alpinestars) The best advice I can give is find a shop with a good returns policy and buy both to try them and return the other one (Sportsbike Shop is really good for this in the UK). Looking at the specs online I like the SP2 more but trying it in person the SP8 fits 10x better for me. I have been dailying the SP8s for a almost month now and Im really loving them.
It has "Abrasion-resistant Arshield palm sliders", whatever that might mean. It feels like a fairly tough bit of kevlar with some foam padding underneath, but 100% I would have preferred a plastic TPU palm slider. I still really like the SP8 overall and now daily it despite the fact it doesn't have a proper palm slider. The SP2 seem nice on paper but that problem with the wrist strap meant they wouldn't be safe. If the palm slider is important to you look at the Alpinestars GP Pro/ GP Plus/ GP Tech, but these are far more expensive (£200-£300)! If you want something at a similar price point (£100), and don't care about it being Alpinestars, I would recommend the Oxofrd Nexus 1.0 or the RST TracTech Evo 4 (both have palm sliders and really good all round protection). I have a video review on the Oxford Nexus 1.0 and I am going to release a review of the RST TracTech Evo 4 pretty soon.
was about to buy sp2 , but watching this vid, i think i might go for sp8
Im glad you found the video helpful. I've been dailying the sp8 for a month now and have found them to be great!
