@@yourlocalReptillian the pfp actually has a long story. Basically, like 6 years ago, I made cringy minecraft lets-plays. After a while, I deleted them. Then, a few years ago, I wanted to make redstone tutorials, and tried to remake this channel. I started with the pfp, and then couldn't figure out how to change the name, so I just made a new account altogether. And, then, I guess I just didn't bother changing the picture.

As someone who had the Sol permit from the get go (because I was part of the Kickstarter campaign and pledged at a high enough level to get it and the Free Expansion Pass as perks) I never had to grind for it, so I can't share your pain. I did however have to play the game for a while to acquire the credits to upgrade my starter Cobra (another of the perks) with a good enough hyperdrive and fuel scoop to make the journey feasible from my starter location of Shinrarta Dezhra (yet another perk). And since making credits just after the launch of ED was so much harder (rewards were nowhere near the level they currently are at) it took me several weeks before I got to enjoy my Sol permit. So I salute you, fellow traveler for having made it to the origin system of humanity!

Our own solar system is beautiful, and you made me like it more. Flying around our Solar system in Elite Dangerous VR is an experience I haven't felt yet (currently I'm in Ehecatl), but I've already got the Sol permit, so it's most likely going to be my next objective after I finish the rest of my missions.

This is what ED is all about, like, space dogfights are cool, being a space postman/trucker is cool, being a space miner is cool, but getting to see stuff like this in VR is amazing, I got ED before I had VR, don't get me wrong, I liked it, but since I got my headset, its a whole new feeling, I only wish I could use my motion controllers, even more so with Odyssey, I'd love to be able to fight on planets Pavlov style, maybe one day.

I think about everyone with a Elite VR setup did the grind to get the Sol permit. I don't remember it being such a grind compared to the other grinding i did in this game to get in the endgame, where i am now. I think I only stayed in Sol for sightseeing just for 1 day before I set off again riding the neutron star highway as a explorer into the void. There is so much more out there. All the players combined have only mapped the Milky Way 0.5% since the inception of Elite Dangerous. The things i've seen in this game in VR are undiscribable to non players. Like 2 pulsars in orbit around a black hole. Breathtaking to say the least.

Elite: Dangerous in VR is game changing. First thing I did was one of the training missions to try out a plugin for Virtual cockpit controls, and there was this weird ship I had never seen in front of mine. But it wasn't a weird ship. It was one of the diamond backs. But I'd never had an appropriate sense of scale for the game before so my brain said "Looks too big" and threw it in the "new ship" pile until I took a closer look at it

    Love your content. Genuinely.
I also love ED and felt the same one I arrived at Sol. I just had to visit everywhere.
Agree with the grind too. My one tiny tiny iota of a suggestion for the game is this. Ignore the grind. I flat out refuse to aim to obtain a single thing in the game. The moment I have a goal, I feel myself grinding. So, I just do what I fancy each time I play, and if I win something along the way. Win!
