I am learning this piece for this year's TMEA Texas All State Competition... My friend just pointed out something that I can't get out of my head. The phrase "Salvi Facti" (1:49) kindaaaaa sounds like "Somebody Farted" hahaha! That inside joke just adds to this beautiful piece and I actually really am looking forward to perform this! Padworski, you composed an amazing upbeat and crunchy/distanant piece! BRAVO

@@KevinTPadworski it’s more of me having trouble with the counting of the ala te re dex tro part I m a tenor and I always seem to slow down or speed it up to fast during the accompaniment of that makes sense.

@@joepuff432 Sure. If you can, try speaking the text in rhythm/time, but start with the sop/alt entrance and end on their "dex." It will have the same rhythm as if you were to say "banana cream pie" = "a la-te-re dex" before your first note. Hope that helps!

I saw you’re very responsive on here. I’m directing our combined college choir (small local college) as the finale for our concert. Do have any words to offer regarding your inspiration in writing this piece?

First, thanks for programming my music! I was presenting at a music conference in Green Lake, WI when I wrote this piece. I stayed in a historic lakeside hotel and it's pretty utopian. I have always loved plainchant and I basically took the Liber Usualis down to the water's edge and used the original chant melody to replicate the ripples on the lake. Not overly poetic story, but that's how it happened!👍
