I don't know why its so difficult to get Christopher Reeve's likeness correct. Im a sculptor and use to work for a company that made statues like this. My bosses would never let this head go to market, its definitely too small and doesn't look like him. As a superman fan im still waiting for a premium statue thats perfect, im beginning to think I'll never get it 😢

It's very sad that JND didn't "listen to customer feedback" as they claim they do because I (and quite a few other collectors) expressed our concern about the head looking too small when the re-order photos were revealed a few months ago. It would have been very easy to increase the size of the digital sculpt to make it correct before it went into production, but for some reason, JND's art director for the statue seems to think that it was OK to keep a head that is too small on there. Very disappointing.
You're absolutely right. We saw that promotion defect in photos of the final prototype. However, in hand, or in frontal photos it goes more unnoticed. Indiana Jones is something inexplicable. Maybe being only for the Asian market they have only listened to them, they have not wanted to improve it any more. 🤔
It looks perfect to me as well and its about time we good a excellent version done i also thought the head looked a little small but i took it down to the video
Mi Superman mira de frente, es curioso. Yo le retoqué el peinado en los laterales y la cabeza gana en redondez. Espero que lo disfrutes. Es una gran figura y Clark también
I think Rafael took the eyes out and repositioned them looking to the side like that. It was not JND's intention to have him looking off to the side though.
I love what you did to the hair on your Reeve Superman. Looks a LOT better. Again - that was something else that was pointed out to JND for them to improve the production Superman, but once again, they chose to ignore the suggestion. Your adjustment proves that the suggestion was totally on point and it greatly improves the overall look of the head. Well done. I will try to do the same on mine when it arrives.

My personal experience, SC tends to be a smaller business and therefore takes longer to accumulate a full container in their Asian warehouse to then make an import to the US. Compare that to SpecFiction, who I bought from, and expects it in their US warehouse before the 25th of this month.
Hay demasiada separación entre boca y nariz y demasiado poca distancia entre boca y barbilla . Y la boca tampoco es la de Reeve. La hot toys sigue siendo la que mejor tiene el head sculpt de Reeve . Si costara 600 dolares pues estaría bien , pero estamos hablando de una figura de 6000 .
*A mi me parece que JND Studios está bajando de calidad, sus mejores trabajos han sido solamente el Arthur Fleck (Joker) y las dos de Wonder Woman.😎😎😎😎*
@@certainly2509 No body should actually be a bit bulkier considering it's based on the 78 film but yeah face is off although looks quite good on angles.
@unknowncollector6923 Yeah, if you watch certain scenes in Superman 78, he does have quite a good build. His build is not consistent throughout the movie due to his weight training regime. Some scenes he's skinny and others he's quite big.I think they went middle of the road regarding his build.

If I were a sculptor, I would have already made both a sculpture of Christopher Reeve's Superman and a sculpture of Michael Keaton's Batman.

I love the size but not the face lol. I think the Hot Toys version face nailed it.
The body is spot on, but the face is not quite right. I think the lower face is off, especially the mouth.
The jaw as well, looks completely different to the jaw on the Clark sculpt. Also the eyes are not the right shape.

Glad to see these are starting to ship. When did you get yours in? I ordered mine from Secret Compass and haven't got a shipment email yet.
If you ordered from SC, expect to get yours next year sometime 😂. Sorry - just my experience time after time with them. They are slow importers.
