There are so many things to love about this video. First it’s such a great idea. I will definitely be using this in my next Live session. Secondly I am just very happy to see a fellow GenXer being represented in these videos. As I am aging I am not slowing down, I’m only creating more. I love seeing the next generations creating, but it’s also nice to see all ages in this videos, as well as highlighting women and Asian musicians. I love the diversity you all represent here because there are 8 billion people who aren’t all the same and it’s great for us all to be more connected with each other. Great work Ableton.
Thank you for the great feedback, Michael, we do appreciate it a lot!
*identifying with made-up label & concepts such as generations*
@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol
every single word is a label.. without some generalising of concepts we'd never be able to explain anything to anyone
sorry to nitpick michael, but your pictures make you look like at the end of gen x (close to gen y) and Yuka Honda is born at the end of what americans call "boomers"... just saying, i dont see you as fellows at all (age wise)😛
@@sirleto Thanks. It seems that I was 4 years off from the magical distinction of generations that we arbitrarily set, but the point of "hey it's nice to see someone on here who isn't 20 and it makes me feel good" still stands.
I’ve been a fan of hers for damn near 20 years now!

Yuka, I see that Monome setup on the desk :)
I love videos like this, she has such a cool vibe to the sounds she creates and I love seeing the process.
Oooooof I've loved Yuka and Miho my entire life, so great to see Yuka speak about her process
Funnily enough, I've stumbled upon a similar procedure for drums and beats, and it really helps spark creativity with new ideas and grooves. It's very cool to see that someone as creative and legendary as Yuka came up with this as well!
the delay trick is such a simple but powerful hack, thanks!
Such a wholesome vibes in this one, it just made me smile 😄

I love Honda!!! Specifically the S2000 👍🏿
I thought I’d see Excel on her screen .. but nope .. audio Excel lol
Love it
I think this video just proves how much better the workflow is something like an OP one compared to trying to come up with ideas in a DAW
she looks like my mom and she knows ableton holy s
midi fx are the best
ok wait... cool as fuck
All good as long as one stays wellllll clear of Krum & Mace, Krill and Wibble… YMMV aka Your Music May Vanish.

Wow what a "process".. This was as creative as cutting a piece of bread and selling it as a main course
what are you even yapping about. how much money did you pay to watch a 2 minute tip on youtube

i miss the days where there were hardly any people doing music and we had to figure out how to make sounds ourselves by buying gear and just trying.. no music production courses and no TH-cam etc.. i really miss that.. no one hangs out in real life any more and people tend to get views based on how cool they look not how moving their song is
I've written songs that have made tough guys cry, but i get about one view a month, then someone who looks good in a thumbnail gets thousands of views
and with the software yes it's cool but it's making it so that millions of people are creating pretty much identical music in a lot of cases
we used to have to go work for free at a studio to get any experience recording, it meant that when we went to get gigs at venues we were appreciated a lot more by the venues tooz the fact that being a musician was a rarity
