I got out of a nursing home last month after 15 months of residency. I am 73. I was there to recover from brain tumor surgery. Many of the residents are in full possession of their mental faculties and have been in the nursing home for more than a decade. I live in Wisconsin and I am actively spreading the word against Eric Hovde's run. We need to prevent him from winning.

@@Dragonmist1 That's more of a tactical decision, but necessary. I understand the purpose of the filibuster. While in the past it has served a valid purpose, the Republicans have abused the procedural filibuster to stop almost everything.
Trump flags are falling in the neighborhood like Autumn leaves. Even the hardcore trump fans next door removed their flag last night. I know we can't get complacent but I'm going to enjoy these small moments of hope with gusto.

It makes perfect sense if the intent is to establish a PERMANENT lock on political power. They are telling their base "help me achieve power, and I can turn you loose on them." (You and me. ) These are the stakes, and the results in November are only the start of the next round of this fight.

It was to preemptively plant seeds of doubt among the electorate in case he loses. This is why it was so dangerous in 2015/16 when he first began claiming elections are rigged. People brushed it off back then but there is a direct line between letting that slide and Jan 6 insurrection. It directly led to swaths of trump supporters dumb enough to believe it with such conviction that they easily committed felonies for him.

America has participated around the world as Election Monitors. With the current atmosphere concerning upcoming elections, very very similar to what they say happens Banana Republic, America 2024 election should have international monitors. Shame if America refuses.

I am really sick of our elected officials and congressmen saying that they refuse to abide by a peaceful transfer of power. We absolutely need legislation that says that if they refuse a peaceful transfer of power, even before an election occurs, then they need to be impeached/removed from office immediately. I've had enough of these Republicans saying they refuse to concede a peaceful transfer of power.

This sounds horrible... but if Donald Trump foments violence this early in the game... he will drop off a polling cliff.
The 2024 election may be contested very differently- through denial and shenanigans at the state legislative level.

Simply scrap the Electoral College and go by popular vote. As far as it goes, didn't they find that Gore actually won Florida?
In the 2020 election, Biden won the popular vote by 7,000,000 votes; yet he won the electoral vote by only 100,000 votes!
So, what happens to 6,900,000 votes between the PEOPLE AND THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE??

Can we also point out that Trump is new in this GOP effort to establish a white nationalist state but this has been the republican plan for 50+ years. These state election laws wouldn’t get so easily passed if it wasnt for Shelby v Holder in 2013. To understand how that and citizens united passed we have to look at the SCOTUS composition and how republicans have aggressively packed courts to aid in this effort basically since FDR passed the new deal reforms.

If you're not involved in or paying attention to your state level politics. Please get involved because that is where they can do the most damage. All it takes is one person or a group. I looked in my state and found 4 election deniers running for state level government positions. So now I'm alerting every Democratic group in my state and sharing the info about them with as many friends as possible.
The School Boards have been invaded also. It only seems to take one person to destroy a room, a vote.
What you are describing is the Christian Dominionist plot called "Seven Mountains Mandate". Part of the plot is to take over the "Seven Mountains" at the local election level where many people are not paying close attention. The Seven Mountains are, Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Family, Religion, Education and Business.
