I live in the flat lands of North Carolina USA. After war hung your videos I think I live the in the wrong part of the world. Really nice to see another beautiful part time of this world. It amazes me to know people would flock to see concrete and asphalt in a city and not to see something as cool as this.

Reg, you have such amazing forst to hike threw. Wow!! Ive never seen anything like you guys have in BC. Most forest we have is pure pines. Young growth because most of it has been logged!!
Temperate Rainforest is a magical place - when you find it intact. We often find ourselves working away in our short lives not having a chance to contemplate what it takes for giant Spruce to get to that height in this environment- thank you

Really like the video Reg. Some times doctors, sometimes assassins, and sometimes all to rarely, just a witness to grand old giants that make us look so small in so many ways.
I'm actually glad the place isn't swarming with tourists, i call this place home every time i go to bc. I like being alone in nature. The only downside to not being well known is there are less people to protest logging. The idea of losing parts of this forest saddens me
Thanks Reg...I love areas like that...had to be some dinosaur size fish hiding in the deep water underneath that rock ledge. Probably a risky business place for skinny dipping:)

Given the choice I will go out hiking in the woods every time rather than go to some "tourist trap" to look at pretty flowers. If you want some really nice tweaks to get the very most out of your footage: check out Spectrum Grades LUT's some average footage turns pretty lush with those LUT's as long as you record in D-Cinelike colour profile on the mavic. You are a fellow tree surgeon and a fellow mavic user to me but I dont feel on your level in the tree climbing regard! Tree work in England misses you sir! Regards James
I just shared the vid on my FB page (and soon in several FB groups) and will send the link to Robert Van Pelt. I hope to soon be tripping back to that big fir in the South Cascades, as he wants to go. As well, we'll visit the big noble fir stands, which host the largest and tallest true firs in the world...all SW of Mt. St. Helens.
How big were the flowers Reg? Another great video. We are visiting Vancouver Island in August will have to visit this place it is on our way to Victoria.
You should do the WCT trail Reg, which contains a large coastal portion of CW Park if I'm not mistaken. I rushed through it in a couple of days when I was 18 or 19 and I don't think I fully appreciated or respected the area for what it was...
Randy Stoltmann accomplished more in his short 31 years than many ppls lifetimes put together. He found, advocated for and lead by example saving some of the biggest trees and thousands of acres of old forest land in Canada following in Legendary Tree Man 103 y/o AC Carder. Both are published wonderful authors

I could see the passion in your eyes when you were stood by the flooding river , you were so frustrated with passion for something to happen , for somebody to take it upon themselves to care for the protection of the woods , you even clenched your fist for a second disgruntled that people want a photo of a poxy flower and pay for the privilege , at the moment your the green man of the woods the protector and caretaker allowing people to recognise by showing us through you tube and making aware of what actually exists if you just explore a little further ! I am going back through your videos and finding all your walks I am hooked , it would be great if you did another jungle walk soon I find them mesmerising ! And your a far superior presenter than that k@&£ on the coast documentary who prefers the look of himself rather than the scenery 🤣🤣🤣 thanks Reg (the green man the woods caretaker)

Free is for me. Mo ppl mo problems. Its funny that you didn't bump into not one conservationist. They all seem to be in the cities trying to find more 💰. I really enjoyed the last couple of videos and the exploration with an analysis of whats being said about you're forests vs. what is actually happening. Also, glad to see ya take some time off and recharge the body and spirit. Its also pretty dam green here in Fl. I call it salad. It won't stop growing. U should have gone for a quick cool dwn tho. Good memories for the next time ur sitting on spurs at 200ft. Hey Reg, on ur big tree hunt maybe try a handheld Garmin gps and put in the lat long and then compare that location with a sat pic from google maps and come up with a plan of attack. Looky for the least dense way in. It can be a mother trying to get through the dense vegetation dwn here as well. Another tip would be that the salad is most dense where the sun can penetrate through to the ground. If you can find ur way through that small area the forest floor tends to open up. Hope it helps. I know you're pretty keen on all forest info. Good luck and can't wait to see some drone footage of this 🌳.
Shane Souza More visitors and public awarness might lead to less clear cuts. Or less abandoned clear cuts at least. Scan vancouver island with google earth, see for your self Shane.
Reg Coates oki will do. We have all managed tree farms down here for paper products. They get replanted as soon as cut. I guess you were wishing for some more management and replanting rather then clearcuts and leaving it. I can agree with that. Hope I read you're thoughts on that correctly. I believe large tracts should just be natural.
Shane Souza you are correct Shane. Nothing wrong with maintaining a Forest industry....but the forest needs to be sustained and balanced. Cant just keep taking it at 10x the rate its being replaced.
@@Recoates I was gonna say, in this video, you seem to insist on more awareness of this place, and I'm thinking "you SURE you want that????" look at the National Park System in the US right now, overcrowded. But then again, from the few things I've read about this place, it seems like the lack of awareness is contributing to the logging. Don't know if a "provincial park" is the same as "State parks" in the U.S. but i'm very certain you can't log within state owned land.

Alpine Tree Care i think that segment falls under Pacific Rim National park....but yeah its the same forest.

The only hint of a saw in that whole hike was when you walked through that huge tree. A section was cut for the wooden path , thats it.
