Karachi Circular Railway | A Pre-Look Before Inauguration

- Hello Everyone, I am here with a brand new video of most awaited Karachi Circular Railway aka KCR. This is a project of Pakistan Railways which is about local train system in mega city of Karachi. Unfortunately this local train system of KCR was abandoned several years ago and the rail track dismantled, stations broken and lands illegally occupied. But now after the notice of honorable Supreme Court, Pakistan Railways has decided to relaunch it.
For this very reason, Pakistan Railways has designed new coaches for this project, repainted locomotives which will be used. Rest you can find more info in the video.. plz watch and leave comments.

let see what happen when CJ review it and will talk to sheikh rasheed , this train is only a beginning of greater clean up to recover railway land and clear the tracks ,this is going to be fail definitely because the tracks are not capable to carry the loads. Signals system is from British era, good thing encroachment is remove day by day from the track, In future may be they will modernize it. No proper gates on the crossing and you know when the door will be close it will be a disastrously traffic jam. Still Karachi people hopeful in order to achieve the right to live they have to face every storm

I am glad to know that KCR is being re-introduced in Karachi. Tarar Support earlier indicated that KCR had been closed a decade ago. I travelled in this KCR in 1967. So I have some type of fascination to this train. Thanks to you all for uploading this video.
Thank you Sir. Hope you can recreate your fond memories. But still its far way to go as in first phase, its only being operational on main line. The defunct section will still have to wait if it opens.

Nice and clean coaches. It is very important people maintain cleanliness. Pakistan Railways should try to go green and run on electric energy, reducing pollution.
Agreed but it needs a huge investment to convert into electric based locomotives.
I feel there’s a fundamental problem in KCR coaches ! The exit/entry doors are at the end of coaches and aren’t wide enough! Since this is a local mass transit train these entry / exit doors must be wide like those in Mumbai, Chennai and other local trains in India . If it’s not wide it would be difficult for people to enter /exit quickly causing problems in movements. What’s your take on my comment @Pak Railography Anyways at least Karachi got back KCR! Anyways love from Chennai,India !
You are right. These coaches are not specially designed for a metro train. These are the coaches of express trains which are converted into a local train coach. Still if the infrastructure (tracks and stations) are not upgraded, I fear very less people will use it. As it will be very slow on current tracks and buses/other modes will be much faster.

a phase by phase method of upgradation needs to be adopted. life first clear and and update all stations and rails second bring faster speed and underground tracks as some tracks are right besides highways and houses now.

The person who gave the interview was composed and threw clear light about the manhours, labour and dedication given by the Railway personal towards this project. His request to the citizen's to utilise the services and ensure cleanliness etc is appreciable. Following points are needed :
1. Some coaches should be AC.
2. Tracks should be replaced.
3. Stations should be renovated.
Yes but isme thoda paise lagenge aur abhi economy utni sahi nhi hai isliye thoda economy pe dhyaan dena hoga uske saath infrastructure pe focus ho skta hai aaram se
all locomotives need to be removed, these look like railway coaches and need to be changed to metro style
This is a very good initiative.
what I've observed is :
1. These are long distance coaches modified, local train requires coaches with at least 3 wide doors for easy access and exit during work hours. Otherwise it will become a nightmare.
2. Using locomotive for local train is a bad idea because it takes longer for it to stop frequently, instead EMU (electric multiple unit) must be used which allows quick traction and longer trains can be easily used.
3. Stations are in very bad shape, they need to be upgraded, secured and provide paid parking to encourage park and ride facilities. They can even be developed as building for commercial purposes (retail and offices) which will help railway make money.
4. Line needs to be double track, to have regular service (every 5 to 10 minutes). Also, needs to be secured with grille.
5. This needs to be extended to nearby towns which will help with keeping the city less crowded
6. Security needs to be top notch otherwise once the image is spoiled, people will stop travelling.
7. Sell advertisements in the train, from the tv screens to have dedicated slots for posters, anything to generate extra revenue.
Yes something is better than nothing, but a transport system needs to be done right otherwise it will fail.
I really like the white and blue color, it is very inviting.
Considering these coaches are old ones that have been upgraded, the work is very nicely done

Abhi to tracks ki condition sahi nahi.. Ye Karachi city se Orangi tk 20 ki speed par chale gi aur City se pipri tk 60 tk ja sakti hai.

Because there is stop after every 2-3 kilometers so it can't go more fast than that.
