i think UEL and london met are really cool uni because unlike other uni you do not have too much pressure in studying cause these uni have so many great activities and cultural events for the students to do. I know UEl usually have trip out of england, which is good for international students to explorer the rest of the world, and other cool stuff. And first year do not have to travel far to get to their housing and back, it is 5 sec walk from the uni. so it is up to you on how hard you work
I had my interview today and discussed with the person there like how good it is, and how many people get good jobs after leaving, and got a very positive answer, and i also asked if the tutors were enthusiastic and the answer straight up was YESSS lol =]
@j1989o i was thinking of applying it just needs 200 tarris points for accountant from any subject while brunel uni or other uni wants 300 points and b grade in gcse
@uel786 are you saying it is for poor students? i am not poor that is one thing, and i am going there this year i have to pay almost $13,000 US same as london Met so i guess poor ppl go there to, honestly the reason i choose UEL cause it had joint majors and not every uni in london is like that. So it is normal not like those top uni
haha well thanks everybody, i don't think i'm going there! it really look very nice place but from your comments i have to make second thoughts, i;m thinking about university of the arts in London... hope is better than this...
To that that UEL is one of the best UK universities is a bit of an exageration. UEL is a 'decent' 'new university' (former polytechnic). It's no U of London or Oxford. I worked there for a number of years and saw the inner workings of hte place. However, for students that are not from elite, upper class backgrounds, UEL is a means for working class and lower middle class students to get a credential and ultimately a job. At the end the day, that's what most people go to school for.
@Inathi12 im only 18 i applied for top universitys with 320 ucas points because i think it give me good job and if i go bad university then hard to find employement, the ucas points are low
ya..man..Im hoping to go there 4 the next semester...Im curious...R U studing there??????then..we can be friends...ofcourse..Im a sri lankan student!!!!!
Im studying at UEL at the moment and I regret coming here soo much. So please if you have an alternate choice, do not come to this uni. I feel the staff on my course are not giving the students their full support and dedication. They do not stick around to help students after hours and rather, escape the building as fast as possible. I do not feel i am getting my money's worth and whats more, I have to pay extra money as the three year maintainence fee. Its rubbish and i hate it here.
I am not th owner LOL. I guess my comment was sending out the wrong Message hahaha I jz wanted to know if there were any Srilankans in this uni who were applying so that I could get to know them.
First year is ok, many seminars, but from second yr they stop teaching wtf? ppl r starting to comment 'is this uni gonna be bankrupt?' students leave one after another during these boring unhelpful lectures coz the tutors just chat with a few students especial with girls.
U might spend several yrs studying in a cozy environment, but u will find out u learned nothing when u graduate, u just wasted ur 3 or 4 yrs n u also got a student loan u gotta pay back and I wonder if u can get a good job with that.
admin staff n security staff r quite rude, they will shout at u no matter what! the lead tutors from ur course dnt even know anything about the course they just do the admin, managing stuff, n they still assess ur work at the end of the day wtf?
Some of them also try to take money from the equipment funds and other funds. U will realize this uni is just about money and ripping off students n in return they give u the poorest teaching in London, and there u go u will then also realize why its teaching quality is too low in the UK.
Tutors r being extremely unhelpful, they dnt bloody teach! dnt know how they got their bloody job, and this happens in lot of courses, u better ask the students in the uni urself. Dnt think ppl in the UK will choose it as a first choice anyway just ask wot they they. I dnt care about the promotion stuff, but my opinion, avoid it at all costs!
This is a bloody awful university who recently opened a new campus called Stratford Square waste of tax payers money. I have been a student at uel for more than 2 years and i gotta say that uel is one of the worst universities there is in England. And here are the reasons why. In the new campus based on the course i am in, there is NO ADMISSIONS, NO LIBRARY, NO STUDENT SERVICES AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICES. I've never been to a uni that has got none of these features. waste of tax payers money.
Actually it is a pretty shit uni to be honest! First the reputation is so bad altho superficially it looks pretty good. But when u start ur course u will realize ur tutors dnt fucking teach! cnt be bothered to answer ur questions, some of them promise to answer later, but after 5 mins try to desperately escape. And a tutor wud spend over 2 hours after school with a girl student 'answering her questions' and let everybody else wait outside.
U choose a full time course, but after a year u only have classes 3 days a week! n particularly u have almost nothing to do in the afternoons no class wtf? So u r actually studying 1.5 days a week! Plus the tutors dnt wanna answer u questions, wots the point of going to a uni if u aint bloody teach?! yh right they wud start to say we offer flexible timetables and u dnt have too much pressure in ur studying, but guess what?
ppl r becoming lazy and r getting reluctant to come to uni, and even tutors come late, class starts at 10, some of them come at 11 wtf?! and u will probably realize u learned tiny bit when u graduate, and u will also realize u just wasted ur money on a course u can probably learn from internet by urself! And thus it is not good for ur career at all, pretty shit uni to be honest again!

@PITTA212 i guess it all depends on your choice and what you want to do in life :D
Im studying at UEL at the moment and I regret coming here soo much. So please if you have an alternate choice, do not come to this uni. uel em londrina...!!
@ussumane22 owh that hurts...
If its such a bad UNI why does over 20 000 people go there?
First year is ok, many seminars, but from second yr they stop teaching wtf? ppl r starting to comment 'is this uni gonna be bankrupt?' students leave one after another during these boring unhelpful lectures coz the tutors just chat with a few students especial with girls.

@spazmosho is full of alot foriegn students
@jazzkick0 because they failed their A-levels. the uni itself is not even on the top 100
