    Good job Travis. I also have a BRS-140 on my system I use an Eheim 1264 pump to drive it with. have had no issues as of yet

    nice I've been thinking about adding a reactor myself. I will definitely check out that other video.

    hopefully you still look at this tread...I was wondering what kind of adaptor are you using with the Venturi intake on your elite protein skimmer where the line hose from the reactor to the Venturi?"

    wow i watched this complete video and im so lost, saltwater hobbyists have a ton of work to do just for a healthy tank. Great job and cool reactors nice bio pellets holder thing you just bought. Nice video

      Is it just the concept of biopellets thats confusing or how i was talking about them? Justing making sure the video wasnt all over the place

      FishOfHex no you did a wonderful and brilliant video😎 voice was clear not raspy and went into full details why you were doind the change up 👍 better safecthan sorry you got your year outvof the older one. Its the view of the reactors and the supm and the compartment itself that has me puzzled and lost, pvc pipes, skimmer the power knobs that lower and control the volume of water; in and from the sump. I just need do some research its hitting me all to fast i dont know anything about saltwater fish/setups😐 but this video was nice i liked and watched the whole vid.

      O ok i understand, i will say check out the beginner guide playlist on this channel it has a lot of basic stuff. Also just an fyi i do a few advanced things to make my reef what it is. You in no way need a biopellet reactor to be sucessful so i wouldnt worry about learning about them any time soon.

    seems like you have a ton of filtration for that tank... but as you said.. ether have too much and overfeed to compensate or not have enough and underfeed to make it work... interesting vid.. Also diggin the new intro man. Be Easy!

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +CJ'S AQUARIUMS Atm I'm feeding a little more to keep the fish happy plus it's going to take a month or so for the tank to adjust to the marine pure and new amount of biopellets /flow. Just a big balancing game until then.

    In the manual on BRS it says to glue the barb fittings...is that really necessary? Did you glue yours?

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I glued mine without even reading the manual. If it comes out you drop all that water on the floor. So to be safe do it.

    I DIYED by own BR10 for about 60 bucks. Been using it for a year and thinking of taking it off line. Do you still use yours?

    I run a 90 gallon reef tank with a 951GPH Sicce return pump. I have a manifold and was hoping the run this off my return, is this enough you think to run a reactor for my size tank? I currently run a GFO and UV sterilizer thru it now on the manifold. Thanks

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should be fine. They also make a smaller reactor just like this fyi

    • @jeremyb5740
      @jeremyb5740 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the speedy reply, when I set up my reactor in a few weeks I'll try and give you a shout out, thanks for your service. Got 11 years in the NC guard myself.

      Check out my biopellet guide video if you get some time. should be in the beginner guide playlist. And thanks man

      @jeremyb5740 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would the Reef Octopus BR 70 probably be okay for a 90 gallon or less?

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We recommend 1 cup (236 ml) of BRS biopellets per 50 gallons of system volume.. so i would do the math on what it can hold.

    if i have extra bacteria on my rocks that means I used too many pellets?

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you talking about red cyanobacteria outbreak in your main display?

    • @dosmaiz7361
      @dosmaiz7361 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, not cyano. I have this fuzzy stuff under my rocks. Its clear. It looks like the stuff that grows on a decaying shrimp when using it to cycle a tank.

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its prob a type of sponge id have to see a picture of it to be able to get a better idea. You could post a pick on our fb page. If you are skimming off the output of the reactor you shouldnt have anything to worry about. As for to many pellets you would most likely strip the tank and cause coral death if you had to many pellets.

    • @dosmaiz7361
      @dosmaiz7361 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No coral deaths and the pellets have been running for a few months. I'll definitely post a pic on the fb page.
      Do you have a video on how you setup the biopellet outlet to the skimmer inlet?

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dos Maiz (Twocorns) I do not I took the skimmer input to homedepot and found an adapter then drilled a spot for a barb fitting

    i want to add bio pellets back to my tank but after those two back to back trashes scared too loss a lot of fish

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well in time you could try again. But i have had plenty of tanks that did well without a biopellet reactor

    • @tyroneburgess8938

      FishOfHex trying other stuff now to get my nitrates down now

    • @jeremyb5740
      @jeremyb5740 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not expert but I think that main problem is people dose too much for there tank? Was that what people were telling you?

  • @hamzarazak1
    @hamzarazak1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    What are your nutrient levels?

    • @FishOfHex
      @FishOfHex  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No idea havent tested no3 and no4 in almost a year. I can adjust my nutrients based simply on how the coral look.

    • @christians8114
      @christians8114 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      FishOfHex do you have a video on how you made that thing that puts the output of the reactor on the skimmer Venturi
