If the person I want to sue lives in a different city and the car accident occurred in a city that is far from where I live, can I sue in my local court?

Hi there! It depends on the state you filed your lawsuit. In most states, you are just required to serve the lawsuit. In other states, they give you additional forms to serve.

Question: My ex dentist did a bad work with my root canal and fills, I went back and he refuses to fix what he did wrong, another dentist sent me with an endodontist whom confirmed that the tooth need to be done again and I need to pay once more, HE REFUSED to give me the money back (this happened 1+ year ago) but I have proof that I have been from one dentist office to another (for this whole year because I have pain since day one from his dental work) and they don't want to fix what my ex dentist did wrong...MY QUESTION IS: CAN I SUE HIM AFTER 1+YEAR? or is it to late? (The endodontist confirmed this just 2 weeks ago).

This question deserves its own video! Many businesses are registered with the California Secretary of State. When a business is registered with the California Secretary of State, then they are required to appoint an agent that can be served inside California. In general, California small claims court requires your to serve the lawsuit in California (there are exceptions). You may want to reach out to the small claims advisor at your local courthouse as there may be a way to serve the business in California depending on the details of your case!
If the bodily harm took place in my county I would sue them in my county not theirs right? We both live in CA but I’m an hour away from him.

Hi Huanqing, we have noticed that the Santa Clara court tends to not allow virtual hearings in small claims :( You can still request permission from the court just in case they have changed their mind! Many counties do allow virtual hearings as they can be very convenient to the parties.

You don't add court fees and other fees for expert opinion (appraisal, etc), gas/transportation, etc? How does that work? I saw it said not to add stuff like that. If not, when?

You don't write them down on the lawsuit. The witnesses show up with you to the hearing date!

Isn't it $7500 max for individual and $5000 maximum for business? Not $10,000?
