I do appreciate that the Birdbox animators aren't afraid to get a little dark. I came to this video direct from the one in which the kids are getting thrown off swings and catapulted from see-saws. The surprise subversion of really quite nasty things happening to cute and innocent characters is all part of the fun, I think. And the fact that we still feel for these characters who only exist as sketches is a testament to the skill of the creators.

It certainly has that look. I understand the reasons Flash had to die, but it's sorely missed and nothing seems to have fully replaced it. Many of my favourite things on the noughties internet were interactive Flash animations and games. So much creativity!

Hi, Ant and friends, I've been watching since the latter days of the Bewley comic strip, and I love everything I've seen from Birdbox Studio. When I first saw the original Hedgehogs interactive video it immediately became a Christmas tradition to play through it every year! ....for about two years. Then it stopped working. I am SO glad I can restart this tradition even if it's not interactive. P.S. please bring Bewley back somehow! Maybe in animation? Or print a book?

If you feel like feeding hedgehogs, i can confirm that they enjoy grain-free cat food (with a little water to soften it if its the dry stuff) and then a small dessert of sunflower hearts and a few raisins. Apparently also soy yogurt is good for them but i havent tried that yet. They go out about an hour after sunset, and if its a milder day in winter they will often wake up and try to find midnight snacks. In summer they will mate in your garden and it genuinely sounds like a bunch of escaped pigs having an orgy.
Want to see a happy ending, with all 3 hedgehogs singing, please.😊
