And now that you have the bracketry figured out you can either remake or cut down the bracket you made if you want to lower the seats.
A FYI: 1st Gen Isuzus had a seat bracket that can lower or raise the seat height with a lever. (non electric)
If you're interested I'll send you some pictures of them. I put 2 in my 89 Trooper. They only came with a driver side lift. But Isuzu build everything symetrical, so swapping the lifting mechanism to the passengers side was easy. Pretty nice not to have to wait on an electric motor to raise or lower a seat like in my wifes 4 Runner.

Unfortunately, the inboard edge of the seat is as low as it can go - if the cab floor was flat, for sure the seat would be a little lower!

@@BruceandKrista I appreciate you explaining it to us. I can't see all the little obstacles you have to face. Been wanting to build out a 4WD FRR Isuzu with a 24' box and a drop down side entry about4' from the right front corner of the box. I know Isuzus drivetrains better than I do Fusos. My good buddy was the Training director for Isuzu USA, so I have all the shop manuals on them......
But, I've been Hot Rodding up a 1989 37' Fleetwood Class A RV.
So much better now than it came from the factory. It now has a 400hp 5.9L 12 valve Cummins with an Allison 1000 5 speed & stand alone computer. Regeared rear diff with a locker. Most of the parts I sounrced for the drivetrain swap came from Freightliner MTD Trucks. So a lot more beefy than the Duramax stuff. Even the radiator and intercooler are from a Semi Truck. My buddy in California built out his 20K lb Diesel Pusher with the same running gear and he says he's getting 16 mpg out of it. So my old 16,500 lb sloping nose Ferd should see at least that. (No slideouts on mine) And I have a 3 speed Spicer 5831 brownie box I can put in the drive line that has another overdrive gear, a 1:1 or a 1:2 underdrive. That's mainly because I've considered putting a front drive axle under it and there's plenty of room for a transfer case behind the Brownie.
It won't be one I'll be stuffing into a shipping container, but we should be able to get way back out of the mainstream camping spots. And with a front drive axle, snow country and beaches will be more of a possibiility.
We also have a very capable 4X4 rock crawler.
Enough about me. I also read your post on Expedition Portal. Loving the semi short videos. Makes keeping up a lot easier and not an all day thing to watch...

Crawler must be fun! I’ve only ever done crawling at 1:24 scale 🤪. I’m sure you’ll end up with a solid unit of a camper!

@@BruceandKrista Yeah it is. I originally built the 4X4 in in 1998 and my wife and I travel across the US in the Class A 5 times while stil holding down full time jobs. ( I had 5 weeks vacation a year and she was a school teacher.) The old EFI Ford 460 and C 6 3 speed could only give me 6 mpg on a good day pulling my 4x4 truck. Followed by Lots of bumps in our road of life. Both are cancer survivors, so after I tore down the Bis for the repower, things just went upsdie down for us. Just now this years getting back to good health and back on the little things that need done to finish the repower and remodel. Always want to go tour Costa Rica. I grew up in Puerto Rico. (Military Brat). SO I love that climate.
My 4X4 build story would fill a book on how it came to be. SO I'll keep ti short!
You planning on flat towing that Toyota for a TOWED, I see in the shop behind the Fuso? ALways wanted one of those.

@@CurtisDrew1Wait, did you replace the Ford 460 with a diesel engine?

WHAT an EXCELLENT video, Bruce! Love the new tips & tricks, too. By mentioning it at the beginning, you hook people to watch the whole thing. Great way to create!
Love the seats, too. And your fab skills are amazing. Keep it up!

Thanks for watching! Fabrication is an ongoing learning - plenty of mistakes get made along the way 😁

I’m definitely upgrading my seats. I was thinking of an air ride, but not sure that’s even available. My biggest challenge will be needing every inch of headroom. Thanks for the excellent video

I’m 6’2, and I’d say I have a couple inches above my head when the seat is at full height, but ideally I want to drive with the seat somewhere mid-spring so I have up and down movement. 😎
