To be fair, why wouldn't they have someone at Garp's level at the execution, Dafaq are random ass marines gonna do if Roger decides "Never mind, don't feel like dying, I want a drink" and just walks away.
I mean Roger willingly gave himself up when he was on the brink of dying sick anyway, atleast Garp and Sengoku knew that prolly so considering how long they fought eachother they knew Roger wasn't lying there and let him be.
@@islandboy9381Yes, but normally an execution that high profile would normally also have someone high profile presiding over it. Perhaps the specifics of it weren't yet developed at the time Oda wrote that part of the story, which is why there were no high ranking Marines present when the scene first appeared, but the argument makes sense, which is why Oda greenlit it for the live action.
@@syd.a.m The thing is, the anime showed filler flashbacks but how Roger's execution went in the manga is still left pretty hazy in all of it, we know the actual execution, we know high profile pirates were there watching but that's about it. And even that part of high profile pirates watching is revealed way later in the story, it could very well have been that high profile Marines were keeping guard around the crowd in the same vein, while they let Roger be executed in a simple way to make him not seem special. Oda could have greenlit the scene with that in mind, who knows he might even retroactively insert it in the manga lol
Yeah it made no sense that we didn't see any high profile marines in the manga, specially Garp. I believe Oda wasn't looking that far into the story at the time.
Season 2 was announced. We are finally getting to see episode 1.

If Haki really is made by pure pressure without any lightning effects, it would actually even make sense why he is able to purely launch his own ship by sheer impact + make him look A LOT more powerful imo. People will not have this "you can differentiate haki by red lightning and flashy eyes" and i think the luffy x katakuri fight, even if it will be cut shorter most likely, will be A HUGEEEEE FIGHT i hope this show makes it all the way through.
If u look very closely Kingu @ zorros fight with mr 7, you can see when his career as the minority hunter started. 😂 im glad the live action stuck to the source material.
