Foreign tourists come to Hanamikoji just to see the rare Pokemon characters of geiko and maiko, so it's already become like a theme park. I think the number will increase if we leave it alone, but there may be no effective and permanent measures. However, I hope that security issues won't occur. When I was a maiko, there were foreigners who would call out to me and try to pick me up when I was walking between the barrel shop and the tea house at night, and it was annoying.
Yeah as a non japanese I see on videos how tourist think they are in Disney land and too many times treat maiko/geiko as dolls, a couple such tourists make a bad impression for all. May I ask why did you decide to leave this profession?
My parents own a kimono shop, so I want to take over the business in the future. I now use my experiences as a maiko and geiko to teach Japanese dance.
Tourists tend to act like that everywhere they go, unless they are 'made to behave'. Some places in Italy feel like a safari, or perhaps a theme park because of this behavior. Shame to see the Japanese being so lenient when it comes to this. Especially when it involves geiko and maiko. I hope you do not look down on all foreigners. Some of us are decent, considerate people. The people on the video, however, are not.
@@快晴-j5o I don't think those tourists attempt to consider how people feel at all. It is as if they are in a theme park. You can see similar behavior on the Buckingham palace, with tourists disrespecting the royal guards and generally making a nuisance of themselves.
“This is the geisha's house”なんて言われてうれしくもない。

The tourists peeking through the window was rather upsetting to see.
I do not understand how these people are OK with acting like that.
