Phals are not my favorite genera but your video is making me pause. The species are really gorgeous! ♥ I'm sure that you have a great time seeing all these beautiful orchids, BB. Like, Andrea, I need to see this again. Thank you, BB!
+Susana1024 Hi Susana, I think another time of the year there would have been completely other Phals in bloom. I wouldn't want to have all of them, because many resemble each other a lot. But some of them, especially the fragrant ones, are really nice to have. Thank you for tuning in!
OHHHHHHHH....AWWWWWWWWWW....WHAT A FABULOUS VIDEO!!! Indeed one of my favorites!!! I am foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog!!! I WANT THEM ALL!!! LOL! Thanks so much for sharing!!! :)
WOW Schwerte looks AMAZING, it must have been so fantastic to visit there :-) there are so many BEAUTIFUL Orchid blooms, LOVED this vid, thanks so much for sharing and sending tons of love and happiness from Ireland for a wonderful weekend XXXXX
+Desert Plants of Avalon It spent a very nice day there, I was there for many hours. Thanks for watching and I wish you a wonderful weekend as well. :)
I LOVE this video. Most of my phals are very complex hybrids and are NO ID, but it is so wonderful to see the variety of vibrant hybrids along with their identifying names. Thank you for making this!
+Bumblebee Hausermann Orchids are the largest growers of orchids in the Midwest of the U.S. and have been in business for 35 years. They are instrumental in the breeding of many famous Cattleya orchids and have 5 acres of orchids under glass (greenhouses although I believe they lost one in a storm last year or so)
Great collection! I love species or simple hybrid phals. Such good bloomers and lovely smell. I have the liodoro and just ordered the bellina 'Ponkan' x mannii 'Black'
Oh, I thought I had answered already. I hope you've received a beautiful Phal. Gigabell from Schwerte! It's a very nice cross. Happy growing and thank you! :)
Thanks for filming the Asconopsis Irene Dobkin too. :) It was so nice to see how the plants and leaves look like. It's an interesting plant, so vanda like. Did you buy anything? It would probably be very hard to see all those gorgeous blooms and not buy anything. :) I couldn't resist!
+Orchids & a Dutchy The Asconopsis were very pretty. I wish they had bloomed for us. There were so many plants I liked: D. rhodostictum, a Phal. schilleriana with two spikes, a Phal. lueddemanniana cross, a Renanthera and they had beautiful Recchara Frances Fox. But it's always difficult to bring them home safely especially in wintertime and I didn't drive home afterwards streight away, so I only chooe a very small Vanda and I think I'll get another chance to go there some day.
Wonderful footage. I am gradually increasing my little species phal collection . I posted a video this week on what I have just bought. Wish I could a few of those ones though. Also I am gradually getting all my orchids into your great app. Will there ever be updates for it? Sometimes I would like to change my pictures and then I have to redo the whole description. Other than that it is terrific for me.
Thank you for your kind words, Lynn! :) I'm really glad that you enjoy the app! There won't be huge changes like a watering reminder, statistics or photo folders, but from time to time there will be updates with improvements of the user interface concerning the size of the text fields for example and maybe also new features like a search field. :) But if we're lucky there's already a solution for your problem with the pictures so that you don't have to redo the whole description again. Have you seen that you can delete pictures and add new ones? You slide the picture to the left and a delete button appears. Please let me know if that helps you. :) I'll hop over to your channel now! :)
what a fabulous collection of Phal species and hybrids, I want them all! love the schilleriana x mannii as well, such a nice beige pink and flower forms, what does the flower smells like?
Oooooohhhhh!!!! Thank you!!! I love the video! I'm watching for the second time now, because I have to see everything again (and I will probably watch it again later). :) Thanks for filming the phal. bellina x mannii crosses, I enjoyed watching them very much. They are all very beautiful. Do they have a fragrance? If so, how strong is it? That phal. Yaphon Goodboy x lueddemanniana is gorgeous! The colours are breathtaking!! Does it have any fragrance? Oh, and I also love the phal. lueddemanniana x mannii, it is sooo beautiful! That one is going to my wishlist! You mentioned in the video it has a nice fragrance. How strong is the fragrance? The phal. schilleriana x mannii is also very beautiful. I think tonight I will dream about phals! :D Thanks again for the wonderful video!!!
+Orchids & a Dutchy I'm glad you liked the video. I use to watch certain videos more than once, too. The first time to get an overview, the second and sometimes third time to get all details. The fragrance of bellina x mannii wasn't strong at the time I was there, but it was a very gloomy day. I couldn't reach the Phal. Yaphon Goodboy x lueddemanniana to sniff at it. It was behind a fence, because they want to keep it or it was sold, I'm not sure. The Phal. lueddemanniana x mannii plants looked very vigorous and the smell was similar to lueddemanniana, but not the same, a bit more spicy, but not heavy. If I remember it correctly it was the strongest smell of all Phals I smelled this day. The Phal. schilleriana x mannii sometimes has that wonderful schilleriana scent like lily of the valley.
+Bumblebee They are all very beautiful, but fragrance in phals scores a lot of points in my opinion :) Is this the same phal. lueddemanniana x mannii that is in your video? www.shop.schwerter-orchideenzucht.de/product_info.php?cPath=42_43&products_id=5280&page=2&sort=2a And is the phal. schilleriana x mannii that you have the same as this one: www.shop.schwerter-orchideenzucht.de/product_info.php?cPath=42_43&products_id=6058&page=3&sort=2a In the picture it looks darker than in the video. Does the colours vary, or maybe either the camera makes it lighter in the video or the picture is a little dark? Ah, last night when I wrote my comment I said I would dream about these orchids. The funny thing is that I really did! I woke up this morning right after having a dream in with I was seeing a phal. schilleriana x mannii. :D :D :D
+Orchids & a Dutchy My sentiments exactly. Psychopsis have so interesting and beautiful flowers, it's ok that they don't have a fragrance. But Phals are a bit unremarkable sometimes, so a fragrance does help. The Phal. mannii 'Black' x lueddemanniana 'Taiwan Red' was the one in the video. My schilleriana x mannii is not from Schwerte. The ones from Schwerte all had very nice and extensively silvery leaves which mine doesn't have so much. The colour of the flower is reddish/dark (like on the picture in the shop) when they just open and become light orangy/pinkish like in the video with time. Mine does open reddish and fades to a light pink without/with less orange. I like this cross a lot. They flower for the first time when they're still very small and the amount of flowers increases when they get older. They are vigorous growers. Most of them bloom only once a year, but it's definitly one of my favourite primary hybrids (together with amboinensis x mariae). When I overdose something that becomes part of my dreams, too. :D I've dreamt of spider mites multiple times.
+Bumblebee Hi again! I was watching this video again for the 8th time or so, and admiring the Phal. Yaphon Goodboy Chienlung x lueddemanian. It's such a wonderful color. I started to dig into its ancestry, and one parent is phal. venosa, but the other is such a complex hybrid that I gave up searching each plant's ancestry because it was taking so much time. But I suspect if one parent is phal. venosa it doesn't have a good fragrance? I read that venosa is "unpleasantly fragrant [crushed centipede]". I wonder it this was passed on to this cross. The color is at least very beautiful.
Haha, I'm glad you like the video. :D I think it was one of the first seedlings of this cross that flowered. Phal. lueddemanniana has a very nice scent (at least most of them), rather light, fresh and a bit sweet, so I guess this will be the predominant scent. I've read that Yaphon Goodboy doesn't smell bad either, but I don't know if that applies to all Yaphon Goodboys. :) I've just smelled a venosa once or twice and the scent was okay, not pleasant, but not disgusting either.
OHHHHHHHH....AWWWWWWWWWW....WHAT A FABULOUS VIDEO!!! Indeed one of my favorites!!! I am foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog!!! I WANT THEM ALL!!! LOL! Thanks so much for sharing!!! :)

+Bumblebee Yes, I would be sway into buying one or two of the ones with fragrance even when I am not so fond of the large leaves.
I watched all your orchid videos. You are fantastic. Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
+SHARON SHORT Thanks so much, Sharon. I'm very glad that you watched my older videos, too. Happy growing!
Happy growing and please don't ever stop entertaining us with your orchid videos.

Wow that color on the phal yaphon goodboy x lueddemanniana is spectacular! Thanks for taking us along!
+Trac McNguyen It was very special, indeed. Thanks for watching!

+annaisgrowing Thank you very much, Anna, I'm glad you liked the video. :)
One of the most amassing videos on TH-cam for Phal lovers ❤️
:D Thank you! :) Happy growing!
Thanks for sharing your video on the primary phals. After twenty years of growing, my love is now species and really all phalaenopsis.
Wow, that means you're a very experienced grower! :) I love Phals, too. Happy growing, Linda! :)
Wow! I live near Hauserman orchids and even they don't have as many phals as these people do. Love how some were growing upside down.
+Jackie Binkley Is Houserman a large nursery? Schwerte does have a lot Phals, indeed, and it's generally a pretty large nursery.
+Bumblebee Hausermann Orchids are the largest growers of orchids in the Midwest of the U.S. and have been in business for 35 years. They are instrumental in the breeding of many famous Cattleya orchids and have 5 acres of orchids under glass (greenhouses although I believe they lost one in a storm last year or so)
5 acres is enormous! Schwerte should have 0,74 acres (3000 square meters) if I converted it correctly and it's the largest nursery I've ever visited.
wow I envy you. That must have been so much fun being at Schwerte!!!! Thank you for sharing.
+Sunah Yun Thanks for tuning in, Sunah.
Beautiful video
+PlantzNThings Thank you for watching, Bill!
Very nice I enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing!
+PYC Orchids (Caleb) Thanks for watching, Caleb!
I wish I could have most of them in my small space..^^ thank you for the tour.
+Orchid Galaxy Ugh, the good old space problem, I know what you mean. ;)
Schwerter my favourite nursery !
It's a great nursery, indeed. :)
Great collection! I love species or simple hybrid phals. Such good bloomers and lovely smell. I have the liodoro and just ordered the bellina 'Ponkan' x mannii 'Black'
+manygaga1 Thanks a lot! Liodoros are great. Maybe you'll get one of bellina x mannii in the video, who knows? :)
just on time to see this video Ive ordered Gigantea X bellina from schwerter and hope to receive them on Tuesday :) Love your channel! :)
Oh, I thought I had answered already. I hope you've received a beautiful Phal. Gigabell from Schwerte! It's a very nice cross. Happy growing and thank you! :)
thanks for showing the different type of phals . Is there a supplier for some of the orchids you show iam in Hollywood Fla
Thank you Jessica! :) Unfortunately I have no idea since I'm in Europe.

+Menji Zen Hi Menji, the flower smells like lilys of the valley, light and sweet, just delicious, one of my favourite fragrances.

Hi Juan, I don't own this nursery. But you can check out Schwerter Orchideenzucht online. ;)
Are you shipping to USA???
Sorry, I just visited the nursery.
Qual o contato para adquirir ?
Could you repeat your question in English, please?
No English quisiera comprar soy de Miami sobre todo con fragancia
Perdón, Juan. Yo no hablo español. Pruébelo con el traductor de Google. :)
