Truth. Chris’ energy is everywhere. He dialed up on a certain frequency and he gave us the gift to share it with him forever. He screams our pain so we don’t have to. Incredible gift.
Yes I agree so sad Chris Cornell passed away,he was near my age, im57now still miss him, love the song black hole sun I remember in 1994, when I was 28
I always loved this man’s voice growing up, I’d stay up waaay past my bedtime when I knew they’d be on head banger’s ball, his voice was so beautiful, so full of emotion, I wore my VHS tape of “outshined” out, that voice, him in that video in sync with the lyrics, plus he looked like “jesus” I found him even more irresistible when I found out he never was into groupies, they grossed him out, there’s a video of a girl rushing the stage while he’s playing guitar and singing and planting a huge kiss on him and he backs up spits, wipes his mouth, disguised. He was faithful in his relationships/marriages, you can try as hard as you like but this man was true blue, you’ll never find a groupie story about him. Everything about him just made him a “different” kind of rockstar. His widow is a monster though.
That voice. There will never be another Chris. Shit just seems to be suckin more every day. I feel bad for future generations and my kids and grandparents. We had it all and didn't know it
I'll always feel a connection to Chris and his bands. Not only is the music great but also, as a guitar player, learning Black Hole Sun boosted my playing past the beginner level. Once I could play it cleanly from start to finish it greatly increased my confidence, my hunger to grow, and made everything I was learning easier
My first song was Alice Chains' "Angry Chair" from AIC Unplugged, quickly followed by "Heaven Beside You, Would and Nutshell'". My younger brother learned the Bass and we played together throughout High School, the military and in college. I taught him to play Would, Nutshell, Dam That River. He taught me Nirvana and Punk. We performed live together a lot through our youth. He passed away in 2015 when we overdosed together. He died lying on top of me in the back of our father's plumbing van. Superunknown is a very complex album for a beginner (Odd Guitar Tunings, and time signatures, throughout the album). My father had given me the CD on my birthday after my parents divorce. He bought me a decent quality Cutaway acoustic and the songbook for Unplugged and a Chromatic guitar tuner. Playing my favorite music (AIC, Soundgarden, Tool. Nirvana, STP, Deftones) on guitar helped me a lot throughout my teens and young adulthood. I found him after he hung himself at age 52, same age as Chris. I still play Soundgarden and AIC nearly everyday. Thanks for sharing the gift of music, a trade that is my livelihood, and the ability to learn the guitar. I miss you Dad.
@@jamesritchie276 Jesus brother, that's terrible. I'm very sorry to hear about your brother and father. I don't have a brother but I also struggled with substance abuse and had a few friends overdose and die. I held my mother's and father's hand as they died in hospital beds. My dad actually just passed last year and when I was young my cousin, who had been staying with us, killed his girlfriend and himself in our house. I know how heavy that kind of stuff can be. I truly wish you and your loved ones the best going forward.
I was fortunate enough to see them live the fall of ‘91 & will never forget it. He’s my souls twin. I hope he’s up there jamming with Kurt, my brother and my dead exes.
Nah. People said that, but in high school (class of 1990) I used to listen to LZ daily and I'm telling you: Chris sounds like Chris. He eclipsed Plant a long, long time ago. It's not all about range. There is a quality to Chris's voice that makes him infinitely listenable where others grow tiresome. I've been thinking lately how odd it is that this man's voice (spoken or sung) is so personal and familiar to me, like a family member, though I never met him. It comforts me, even when it makes me weep for his loss.
He looked his happiest when he was originally with soundgarden after he seemed to shrink lose weight his voice was still remarkable but his inner light and fire stopped shining he seemed so happy in those interviews 💔🌟🌟

Chris and Eddie singing together: liquid gold. Chris and Chester singing together: nails on a chalkboard. Sorry but their voices don't harmonize well at all.
Actually, you’re wrong. Chester has a unique voice all on his own considering THAT racket comes out of his 5’10’’ body. CHRIS (my HUSBAND), is actually being incredibly courteous if he’s TRYING to harmonize with you. He never sings with anybody. Sooo. You’re wrong. But thanks, I guess? Loser.

I like Chris’s views on spirituality. Even without religion, our existence alone is miraculous!
Ummm… don’t.
Chris was all heart and soul. It all came out when he sang. I miss him but still feel him in his music.
