  • Down & dirty Avios HK Bush Mule setup. There are lots of chopped up hard to find vids out there. I tried to stay short and to the point, while covering everything available on the Bush Mule... Sort of a 1 stop shop. It's actually a pretty cool plane!

    Thanks for posting this! ...Yes, video audio is quiet but I put on my headphones and I could hear your commentary just fine. Again, thank you!

      Glad it helped! I still fly that plane often, it's a good one!

    4:27 different trust

      I'm not sure what you're asking/saying? If you kick on the closed captions you'll see I said "differential thrust."

      Hello! I am also the owner of a bushmule and wanted to do the differential trust based on your video. Also, I'm not a native speaker of English and that's why I wrote my comment quickly (wrong of course). I searched this comment to find the place where I do the differential trust - a kind of mark. Thanks for the quick answer and I had a question if you could explain how you can activate the stabilizer on the busmule with the same transmitter and the as3x gyro? If that were possible, thank you :)

      @@moviefalk177 Hello! If I was going to use a flight stabilizer with this plane, I would probably buy a AR8360T DSMX 8-Channel AS3X & SAFE receiver. I've only used a setup like that in a few planes, but it worked very well. That receiver should give you everything I set up, plus stabilization. You'd really have to study some videos oh how to set it up. Good luck to you ~ I hope it goes well! Btw... your English is 1000 times better than my German! Great job!

      @@crashcopter6000 Thanks again for the quick response! I currently own a DX6 transmitter and I'm considering upgrading to the NX6 transmitter, mainly because I heard that setting up AS3X is supposed to be easier with it. Is that true, and would you recommend doing so? Thanks again.

      @@moviefalk177 Sorry, but I don't know. I fly with a Spectrum DX 9. I've looked at the newer radios but don't know much about them.

    Very, very useful. Thanks so much. A quick question, if I may: what function does the "REV" ("Reverse") connection to the receiver perform? Thanks.

    • @crashcopter6000
      @crashcopter6000  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jim! Check out the video starting at 6:29. The REV is the motor reverse function. Since the plane doesn't have landing gear I used the on/off function of the gear channel to put reverse on a switch. A couple tips though... The motors have to completely stop spinning before they will reverse. I don't recommend doing it in the air. I tried it, and based on the scream the motors made - I thought I'd broken them. The most fun I had using it was on landing. Just before touchdown I'd go 0 throttle and let the motors stop spinning. As I was touching down I'd flip the reverse switch. When all wheels were on the ground I'd punch the throttle and bring the plane to an abrupt stop. It's "cool" but not overly useful :-). When you try to back the plane up, generally the tail just drops to the ground and you loose nose steering. I'm thinking it could be handy if you're flying on water... Good luck to you!

      @@crashcopter6000 Many, many thanks! So helpful!!! One other question: did you set up counter-rotating props? If so, how do I do this? Thanks again!

    • @crashcopter6000
      @crashcopter6000  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@42Redbear It's been a long time... but I don't remember intentionally doing that. Check the stock props and see if they have opposite pitch. In the video, the props counter rotate, but not because of something I actively did. If the plane came with the motors installed they should be set up to counter rotate when you plug in to the receiver. If they don't, one of the motors is probably hooked up backward. Even differential thrust doesn't reverse the motors, it just slows one motor down and speeds the other up. Bottom line is, do the prop spin in the correct direction when mounted?

    Does your throttle cut work for both sides of the airplane?

    • @crashcopter6000
      @crashcopter6000  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. At about 10:45 of the video I show how it only cuts the left side. I never went back and tried to figure out how to mix it out.

    why do you need differntial thrust?

    • @crashcopter6000
      @crashcopter6000  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On water, if there's much of a breeze, rudders are pretty useless. Differential thrust allows you to control the plane easily on water. On the ground it doesn't do much. It's more "because you can." In facet, is something of a hinderance on the ground because throttle cut only works on 1 motor.

      Thanks Flanker. Sorry about the volume... I uploaded and reviewed it using headphones. It's great with headphones, but I didn't realize the volume was a problem with computer speakers until much later.. It's maxed out unfortunately. I should have cranked up the volume during editing... lesson learned!
