Cool. You are essentially making a marlin spike hitch. Love the MSH!

Searched high and low for an answer to hi lift winching without a chain and how to adjust a strap. Thank you.

Very handy tip! Thanks! I was trying to figure out how to adjust strap length and your video was what I needed. However, when using a wide strap with large force, the loop end seems to be quite wide and using towels rolled up, I find it slips and strap works it’s way to the tree, any tricks to stop it from slipping with heavy weight?

Thanks. You'll need to increase the diameter of the "dog bone". Maybe find a tree limb or scrap 2x4 and wrap a towel around that. Get creative. When you've got it right, it locks in.

This is fascinating! Is it legit? I this something you can do if youre trapped or is this sound as a pound?

Yes, it's legit. Try it. Just make sure the dogbone had substantial diameter so it won't slip.

@@pathfinders4x477 Yeah it adds so much flex to the length of your winching straps. I've never seen this anywhere else..does everyone call it a dogbone?

@@RC-bl2pm I've always just called it a dogbone. Call it whatever you like. ;)
