The thing I like about Mincho the most is that every single note is so well thought out and executed; no slop. She is perhaps the biggest enigma in BAND-MAID...on-stage, a total monster of rock; off-stage bookish, spacey, and nerdy...with a degree in economics. And, like MISA and Akane, she isn't playing her first instrument...Akane started on Trombone; MISA on woodwinds; Kanami on piano.
Kanami in "Minchomode"... Sometimes it really seems like she is possessed from an demon or something, in their last online concert was also an moment that seemed like she is shreddings out of this world into an different plane. She breathes music and hardrock music is her oxygen! Best songwriter at the moment, because she is really brave and mixes a lot of different genres to create that "typical" Band-Maid sound!
Summer Sonic 2019. Kanami is like Jekyll and Hyde. Off stage, sweet, goofy, innocent. On stage she's totally possessed. I've seen them live, and it's like she's in her own world.
Tears.... brings me back to London 2019. Kanami ripped my heart open and I cried. Reason: day before the concert I burried my grandmam, funeral was in the morning and the same day in the afternoon flying to London for this concert. As if it was meant to be, crowd opened up as soon as she walked up for this incredible solo. Again...ARIGATO KANAMI-SAN....ARIGATO! RIP Granny.
This interlude into Moratorium, Kaname kicks a cymbal during here solo then leads into the Morotorium Into.... I watch this everymorning, then go out and be as bad ass as she is th-cam.com/video/3K5oFdEyMm0/w-d-xo.html
I may sound like a broken record, but I find Kanami as a human being really interesting. How can a person who is so reserved and shy off stage become such an animal in a split second? 🔥🤘🏻 I agree that it's a shame that there is still an infinite number of people out there who have never even seen or heard of Band-Maid. Or that other bands with far less talent/effort are 'given' many times the success. Their former record companies are certainly to blame for this. I hope that this will change with their new label P.Canyon. So far, at least, it seems that the girls can definitely enjoy a bit more promotion now than in the past. I very much hope that this will continue to be the case. Sure, you could argue that the relatively few fans they have so far are all the more loyal and honest for it, and that's probably true. And although we, as their fans, do a lot of advertising for them here and on all possible channels, I think we have to be honest that our power to change this is very limited in comparison, which I find a great pity. Because I wish the girls so much more success than they have worked so hard for over the years. 【 'Our rock never dies, ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】
@Lar Translation Believe me, I am very happy about that! And I'm also glad and proud to count myself among the supporters of the ladies who are so active for them here. And with that 'thank you' to @Gary Holloway, whose name I see under probably every video sooner or later. 🤘🏻😉
Love your reactions to these Ladies. You give them all the accolades they deserve and more. Kanami just seemed possessed in this version...She is a true genius in her playing and song writing. Akane's drumming is f..in awesome..her facial expression at the 4:16/4:18 seconds in the vid says everything about her intensity...These GALS ARE BY FAR THE BEST GROUP OUT THERE PERIOD. I'm a fading 67 year old rocker and just cannot get enough of these gals...KEEP UP YOUR GREAT WORK MY FRIEND
Daaayyymmnn! I just went to church and it wasn't even Sunday. All hail our Lordess and Savoir, Tono Kanami! Kanami never fails to impress and amaze. She's even wearing my favorite version of her maid uniform in this one.
this was SUMMER SONIC live i cant remember the year if 2017 or 2018 or 2019 ,,they have standard tone.. even this kind of tone they got the beat so nice to hear ,, i can hear bass of misa so like KORN and with a touch of RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS..band maid is not too popular in japan but not like 2020 the overseas fans are getting wider due to the fans spread to others
I am constantly impressed by their stamina and endurance. Kanami must have steel fingers and Arkane the constitution of a marathon runner. Saiki sings full out for 2 hours and Misa and Miku support flat out all the time .How do they do it?
Enjoyed your reaction, as always. There’s a few “Mincho Goes Wild” videos kicking around TH-cam like this one from Hamburg: th-cam.com/video/2bJXFFAqifU/w-d-xo.html There’s another one that I can’t find right now where Kanami does an ax kick to one of Akane’s cymbals.
Trust me they're more universal now than 5hey were just a year ago, I found them 4 or so years ago and it changed my life, I haven't seen any live shows for over 20 years, I don't stand for long periods of time now and I'm afraid withe their popularity growing the venues are never going to be intimate like they used to be, I'm going to try tho if given the chance to see the greatest rock show ever.
Well that's the first I've seen of this concert......I think. So many Band Maid videos have come and gone in the past year and I've seen a bunch! I do however remember Kanami's lead-in like this but it was on a tiny stage, Texas maybe? I remember a pillar splitting the stage....Yikes! I'm glad they're not "universal" so we can have them all to ourselves.....I truly hope the corrupt music industry never sinks their teeth into them, you know what will happen.
The tiny stage with the pillar was in Hamburg, Germany, in 2019. I think they did variations of that intro during their whole 2019 tour. At least at the concerts in europe they did, and like we see also at summer sonic.
Wow, never saw this video... glad I caught it before the copyright hounds find you lol. They don't take down reactions to the official videos, but to the fan cam stuff? This might not be up long... but kanami was on FIRE!
It must piss off all Maidiacs who can't go or have never been to watch B-M play live when they see Mincho playing her heart out in front of such a crap comatose crowd.
@@curtisrrobles7885 I guess at least we've seen B-M 3 times between us. If it's frustrating for us that there's no shows, it must be awful for people who haven't seen them :(
@@GaryHolloway-810 no doubt about that. We are the fortunate few. I was frantically looking for my Shibuya DVD 📀 because I was going through concert withdrawal and forgot I had placed it with my DVD collection next to Band of Brothers and not with my cd collection. Thankfully I finally found it when I was calmly watching the Netflix program " The Last Blockbuster" 💯🙂 🎸🐦🥁🎙🎸🔊🎶🎵🎶❤❤❤❤❤
This post has little to do with this video, except that watching a live performance like this made me think about the future of the band and their live performances. Band Maid currently has only one problem that will be even bigger in the future. And that is how to compile a playlist so that all the fans at the concert are happy. It seems impossible, even though they play over 20 songs on the full performance. It would be ideal to play two shows with completely different set lists in two days, but that is unrealistic and possible only on special occasions. Fans love almost all of their songs but everyone would feel a little bitter when out of 5 or 10 favorite songs, none would be performed at a concert. Absurd but this is a problem when the band has a lot of good songs. It's much easier when you go to a concert of a band that has 5 good songs and you know that they will perform them all at the end of the show. However, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, because for me, as well as real fans, the 20 favorite songs would be the ones I just heard at the concert. I hope this miracle happens.
Summer Sonic is not a band-made only concert. I don't think this quiet crowd reaction can be in a sense, as there are all kinds of music in Japan and each has its own fans. Maidiac would be dissatisfied, though. When a rock band held a concert in Japan, the excitement of the audience during the performance was not so good, so they thought, "Isn't they accepted?" However, they were surprised to receive a big applause after the performance. Whether good or bad, some people want to listen to rock band performances rather than making noise like a classical concert. Is it me? I can't suddenly speak to a band I don't know. Because it's shy. LOL. th-cam.com/video/yPpdlshtnV4/w-d-xo.html
For real. I've seen footage from this concert before, though I don't recall which one it was. Just a overall lifeless lump of flesh who gave nothing back. How do you just stand in place unmoving with music like that playing live in front of you? Even if you don't know the band, just ridiculous.
Maybe this was a Covid concert with paper cutout for the audience 😁 _(Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tubemen! Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tubemen! )_

I do think there was crowd appreciation/participation here...just not well represented in the recorded sound mix.
