Great video Adam. I am an 8 handicap, yet shot a 51 (9 holes) this past Wednesday. Started triple, double, double. Hard to recover but I managed a 91 after managing a 40 on the back. As always, love your content from Halifax Canada.

I have watched almost all of your videos (good job). I am always amazed at the number of 6 irons - hybrids that you hit into par 3-4. You downplay your driver, but it is not that short compared to most normal golfers. It maybe the people you play with are mostly single digits and want to play longer tees, but it would exhaust me to never hit a 9-7 iron. Great job and keep up the good work. You are the most relatable good golfers on YT!

    • @mistahshorthitter

It is very individualistic. I love my hybrids and hit them all the time. I think it just depends on what you enjoy about the game.

Adam, your presentation style is great and I appreciate your (largely) ego'less approach to golf. Being a past practicing sport psychologist I would have to say Dr Rotella's suggestion about going with your gut is something I have tried but being a quantitative traditional scientist, I like a little more analysis in my putts. I have two points that I check and then get on with it. Regardless, what I would say about any psychological suggestion is that it is like any physical skill you want to implement - it can take anywhere from 2-3 sessions per week (practice round or putting practice session) for 4-6 weeks before you will know for sure whether using your "gut" is for you - just like a physical change; psychological change needs lots of reps and time before it can be evaluated. Keep up the great content. *Also I noticed you used my countries "Eh" at the end of a sentence - super polite and humble ... you sure you are not a closet Canadian? Ah Ha! So I went back and watched your "How golf saved your life" video which let me know you are probably Canadian or lived there for a while - I'm from Penticton and lived in Van for a couple years (now in the UK for the past 20 years). So funny that - "Eh" can identify us as Canucks.

I’m a 7/8 handicap. Many more rounds in the 80s than 70s. It’s the occasional 70s scores that keep the cap in single digits.

Good stuff here. Most people just don't understand the handicap system at all, and they tend to be the loudest haha. Fact is, we can pretty much crap the bed 50% of the time and the cap will stay around our potential number.

Please don’t abandon anything your putting guru says. Take first instinct to be line only then put all of your energy/process towards pace. Match the pace to the line. Like your line on instinct. Evaluate, apply creativity to, and love your pace. I’m sure that’s what the book meant and really what you’ve gone away from of late. Keep grinding!

Yesterday I had 8 birdies, 4 bogeys, a triple on a 195yrd par 3 and parred 3 out of 4 par 5s, 🤬 Plus i only hit 65% of GIR thanks to some errant approach shots and Shot a -1 71 (7000yrds) The week before i parred holes 1-15 then went birdie par birdie, missing only 3 greens. Two weeks before that i couldn't hit a barn door and shot 84 (+12) thats why i love golf, you never know what game is gonna turn up, a average one, a great one or a 💩 one.

Great video Adam! How do you recover from a bad round/cold streak? I had been seeing constant progress over winter, but for whatever reason I've hit an atrocious spell recently and trying to figure out how to get back on trap. There's no real pattern - bad bunker play, ice cold putter days... I'm guessing it's possibly mental, but it's definitely frustrating! I'm wondering about trying something like Fluid Motion Factor Golf.

For the "wow" factor, it's hard not to put Predator Ridge (Ridge Course) at #1. Stunning views and a relatively forgiving Resort Course.
Tower Ranch is similarly pretty spectacular, although it's more divisive as there are a few gimmicky holes.
I'd skip The Rise and the Okanagan Club, personally.
A lot of people enjoy Gallagher's Canyon, but it is definitely tight and gimmicky in places, too.
My #2 course would be The Harvest. More walkable, some cool views of the lake and the surrounding orchard. A good changeup from Predator, IMHO.
Hope you enjoy your time there!
