    Output voltage/current regulation method:
    1. Adjust the “CV-ADJ” potentiometer and set the output voltage to your desired voltage according to your battery or LED. Such as 10 series LED voltage regulation 37V. (Increase the reverse clock voltage, reduce the clock voltage)
    2. Turn the "CC-ADJ" potentiometer counterclockwise for about 30 turns, set the output current to the minimum, connect the LED, and adjust the RV2 potentiometer to your desired current. For battery charging, after discharging the battery, connect it to the output and adjust the RV2 to the current you need. (For charging, be sure to use the discharged battery to adjust, because the battery is more More, the smaller the charging current is.) (Reverse clock current is reduced and clock current is increased)
    Please do not adjust the current by the short circuit. The circuit structure of the boost module cannot be adjusted by the short circuit.

    Beware! I have two of these and they both have the same fault. If the input voltage (from a wind turbine) comes up slowly to about 8V, the boost module will 'lock up' and pull 9Amp (70W) while the output is only 20W. This excess 50W goes into the current limiting heat sink which gets smoking hot within seconds. Both units do this, so it seems like a design issue? The units work fine IF I wait until the input voltage is greater than 9V before connecting the input. Some better boost units do have a setting for 'disconnect input' if below a set limit.

      The unit does say the min input voltage is 8.5V - But it shouldn't 'self-destruct' as it would with 50W in the small heatsink! I suspect in your case, the oscillator has failed to start..

      To confirm the 'self destruct' behavior, here are the stats as the input voltage picks up from 6V to 8V.. 6V 4W in, 5V 3.5W out :: 7V 20W in, 6V 4W out :: 7.5V 50W in, 7V 6W out :: 8V 80W! in, 16V 20W out.. With 60W into the heatsink, destruction would be within 30sec. (Both units do exactly the same)

    Esse (step up)e (step down) ajudou bastante na minha energia solar não uso inversor transformei a casa em 12v separado da concessionária onde todos os aparelhos que usava fonte eliminei e usei direto o notebook e tv tive que usa um desse para aumentar a tensão já os outros aparelhos tive que usa um para diminuir a tensão porque quando as baterias entravam em equalização e flutuação passava de 13 volts e 14 volts regulei para ficar em 12.20

    Had one of these units, Wish the Chinese would put external pot instead if the infernal fidgety small potentiometers they fit on the circuit board ? They would sell a lot more with External pots instead of the stupid small ones onboard! Make it a lot easier to panel mount in a cabinet with floating pots. And for those budding young electronic Engineers with their good steady hands and fingers, Us oldies suffer a bit with fidgety bits being old, but NOT past it! Hope the Chinese manufactures who make these units read customer views and comments, They might sell a few more if they did!

    just ordered one of these :) i'm gonna hook it up to my 48 v 16 ah ebike battery so i wont do 12 - 220 - 54v anymore.. but instead i will do 12v - 54v as i learnt from Jehu :)

    Hi , i bought this product a couple days ago , from a Chinese seller at ebay. I noticed that the CC mode does not work at all. In specific , i use a 150 Ωhm , 30 W resistor at the boost's output as a load , while applying 60 Volt from the boost's output on it. According to Ohm's law , the output current on that load should be 400mA , as it is indeed. Then i tried to adjust the CC resistor , intending to reduce the current to 200mA , but the current is never getting any lower no matter how many tries i made. It seems that the CC adjustment resistor of the boost does not work. What is your opinion? Las , i saw in your video that the current can get adjusted a lot lower than 200mA.

    I have this with blue tech mixer grinder
    Voltage Supply = 230V, AC ONLY,50 HZ
    INPUT = 750 Watts
    RATING = 30 Min.
    RPM = 18000 (No Load)
    Motor = 1HP
    & I have 12 volts 100Ah Exide Battry
    Now I want one invater (DC to AC )
    I go to the business of repairing mixer grinder & electronics items to villages on a regular bike. 😊

    0:19 + output terminal and heat sink on one side are connected.
    The heat sink on the opposite side is connected to the ground side.
    When the maximum voltage is generated, high voltage is applied to both heat sinks.
    Risk of electric shock and fire.

      See Andy McLeans comment - He indicates the units can self destruct if the input voltage is not stable and always above 9V. I believe this is a common failing of many cheap converters. Solar as the input voltage is NOT stable and often below 9V. Also, Solar charging usually uses a buck converter, not a boost converter!

      @@piczelbytes Yes, go through the instruction leaflet. You should find that voltage adjustment (by rotating the voltage pot) should be done after disconecting the load.

    Hello. I have exactly the same dc-dc booster circuit but its mosfet failed. I changed its original nce8580 nmos with ixtp130n10t nmos to get rid of high temperatures because my thrusters can suck 10A when they are working with 100% power. I tested new mosfet with digital multimeter and it works good. Unfortunately, the output voltage doesn't change when I apply 5V to inputs and turn the screw of voltage POT right or left. Can you help me to solve this problem ?

    Does that mean , it can only power loads rated 400W or below ?
    Laptops, desktops , CFL's , mobiles etc...

      The unit can only supply 7A output (12A if you add extra heatsinks) So, at 20V output, it can only supply 140Watt. At 24V out, with extra heatsinks & fan, it can supply 280W. So, 400W seems unlikely??

      it is a boost converter not a BUCK or DOWN converter. the output will always be higher than the input. YOU NEED a BUCK converter.

      The Answer is Yes, Definitely without any doubt.

      Yes..set your current to the required charging current of your 48V lithium ion pack. and set the voltage to 48 volts as the output..be noted that this is a boost..you input 12 you get 48, but better use 24 volt for youll be needing 12 volts 10 amp supply if u are needing 5Amps charging current not to overload the input.

    400W at 12V means over 33A. How can you test it to the max using thin wires? No decent configuration.

      400 W and 33 A = wrong calculation:
      output LED = 1 A * 31 V = 31 W (Video 3:44 and 4:06)
      Converter at ~90% = 31 W (output) ~ 34,5 W (input)
      input = 34,5 W / 12 V (Battery) = 2,9 A

      We have used 10 gauge copper wire as input, it supports up to 30A but in, this video we have used 7.2Ah, 12V battery as power source, so it takes comparatively less amount of current to pass. While considering output the light load is very much low and occupies up to 1.5A only so normal wires are used.

    I'll be better doing 6s and 10 pararel father than 12S 5 pararel and using this step up converter, try to search 48 volt battery ke pain on the ads
    And charger laptop suitable for this

    12v 7.2A battery … that’s not enough to power that module. That battery can only deliver about 90 watts

      Vtip.com , sorry if I didn't ask correctly. I ordered a couple of these and was wondering if it has endured well throughout the time you used it. I plan to use it on a couple medium voltage projects. For imstance, stepping up 12volts DC to 20 volts @ 7 amps. Thanks for your video

      The parts used inside this unit: Mosfet (NCE8580), diode (20100CT) can handle more than 50A and the inductor winding seems to handle more than 25A so if you put lager heat-sink you can push 12V @20A. The installed heatsink goes HOT at just 7A...tried it out.

      it is not a current booster, but a voltage booster. The current of your input must not be higher than your load. If your current input is 5 amps..there is no way you can get 6 amps at the output.

      This thing only boosts Voltage !!
      And the more voltage you will boost from this module , the more current it will need to keep your desired voltage stable !!
