Thank you for this video. I wasn't impressed with the battery life until I made some of these adjustments. I never knew how badly some news widgets could eat the battery life. I'm now getting way over a full day with over 6 hours of screen on time. Thanks!
That's very helpful. I did what you suggested and my battery dramatically improved on my Ultra, it went nearly 24 hours of with no charge. Thanks very much.
Thanks for this video! My screen timeout is set to 30 sec by default. I wonder if this is better for battery, or worse because you have to wake up the phone more often and do the unlock with finger print or facial recognition?
I put everything into the deep sleeping mode, obviously not emails or text messages. And it gave me much more battery life. That was the biggest thing for my phone.
Fantastic, the perfect video I was looking for on TH-cam to extend the battery life on my S20 FE. I was so disappointed with the drain out of the box. My old Huiwei P30 pro could run for 2 days easily without the need of a charge. Thank you 👌🏻
@@milusniski1 Hi Michal. I'm sure you were as disappointed as I was. It's great having such a fast processor and lots of RAM, but they should have improved the battery also
Thanks for this. I did alot of it already, but some other stuff here I didn't think of. I got my s20+ yesterday and used my first full charge today. But I was kind of upset that the battery barely lasted 10 hours in dark mode, 1080, 60 hz and alot of apps sleeping in the background. On top of that, I was at work, so it was only very lightly used. For a phone with a 4500 mah battery, that was very disappointing. My year old s10+ got twice that. Plus, everyone said the battery life was great. Going to try your tips and go another day, otherwise I think I have a defective battery.
Yes you might have a defective battery, i bought s20 and battery life is as expected(~24 hrs). I have enabled dark mode, 60hz refresh rate. Try keeping Medium power saving enabled.
How is auto brightness "a waste" as you said? I'm not disagreeing as I have no way to prove it's really as useful as it might seem, I'm just wondering if it's better to turn it off or not.
my samsung S20 now says the battery will last for 23 hours and its full on charge, im only using 60hz display and saving mode enabled, and every update they release just seems to make battery life even worse
Super fast charging isn't going to your battery anymore than fast charging will. Sure your phone heats up a bit more but that's it. Just don't cover your phone when it's charging
I'd also suggest keeping super fast charging off. Just turned mine off now. Thanks for reminding me. Aside from it draining your battery I read last night that S20 back cameras are cracking for no reason. This happened to my S7 after a week of having it. I am pretty sure it was due to using super fast charging that heats up the water resistant phone. Since its water resistant the phone is sealed very well and won't let heat escape so pressure builds up and it ends up breaking its weakest point which is the glass that covers the back camera. I just replaced my S7 with my new S20 Ultra last week and was very disappointed when I read its still having the same problem with the back camera. After spending 1400 for a new phone I'll do what I can to avoid what happened to my S7 by not using super fast charging and would recommend others take Akshay's advice. Best Buys Geek Squad didn't cover to fix or replace my damaged S7 that was occurring due to a Samsung manufacture defect and am reading in threads that Best Buys Geek Squd and Samsung still aren't covering to repair or replace S20s with broken camera glass issues. I had the S3 and it didn't have that issue. The water resistant feature started with the S7 and with the S20 having the same issue Im almost certain its from super fast charging the phone. You can't make the phone non water resistant but you can avoid damaging your camera glass and draining your battery from not super fast charging it. To me its worth it to charge my $1400 phone a little bit slower rather than damaging it and Samsung or Best Buy not doing anything about an issue thats been going on for 4yrs.
@@arnav5489 Thank you just hoping some people take my advice and don't have to deal with what I already have. Thanks again for reminding me to take off my super fast charging before I damage my $1400 phone that Samsung and Geek Squad won't take responsibility for
Reason why I remove my navigation bar, Im afraid it will leave a burn in after awhile of usage.. Im very concern about having screen burn ins on my samsung galaxy phones. Im holding on to my note 9 with still good display, i think..
Mohamed Omar if you look carefully, the navigation bar takes an inch of the screen, it has these permanent bar whenever you open apps.. the only time that bar disappears is when you watch a video or when you turn the full navigation gesture on. If leave it for too long, it will burn the screen as its always there and the bar separates the app and the navigation.
Many thanks for this. Was about to send it back. It got hot just looking at it and no running 120hz with no heat and much better battery. Why do Samsung make their product rubbish out the box and then leave it to consumers to make it better.
I just checked I don't have all the power saving options like I had on my s9+ (Optimized, medium and maximum power saving) is it just selected countries that has that option on s20 ultra?
