Twenty years ago, I started menopause. I sought help from my doctor because of pain during sex and other issues related to menopause. She ignored my pleas. I wish I would have found another doctor right then.
What a horrible doctor! You poor thing! I had a terrible time as I went through menopause early, around 43, and I had a plethora of symptoms including stress incontinence, dryness, breast lumps, recurrent UTI’s and my sex drive all but vanished. I finally got a doctor to prescribe HRT after several visits and things have improved a lot. I still need lubricant for sex, although the dryness is a little better than it was. Women have it tough 😢

Post menopausal urogenital syndrome is all too real, and is related to vaginal atrophy. Not only does this cause issues with the vagina, but also the bladder. Hormonal changes can make you more succeptable to urinary tract infections, urinary frequency, etc. Conjugated estrogens like Premarin, and probiotics, as well as lubricants like Replens help a lot. More serious conditions like prolapse are possible, so it is best to be informed and work with your primary care doctor and gynecologist.
