The fire photos are probably my favorite from you that I’ve seen. The “outdoor drama” one is absolutely perfect.

@@zidane9958 whats he gonna do with a Leica and no equipment whatsoever? What kind of better help could he offer than the firemen that were already there? Please elaborate on what he could have done to help that family in that moment instead of a facepalm.
As a fireman and a photographer, dropping off those prints at the firehouse would be one of the coolest donations/gifts those guys will ever get. It’ll hang on the wall in that station for generations and bring pride to the firefighters that did their job well that day. It’s rare to get pictures during a house fire especially high MP well composed images of them doing what they do best. Great images and I’m glad that citizen got out safely. Love your work, Matt!

This is my 50th year as a working photographer. Your post brought back decades of my life with my face crammed against a camera. My first significant photo was in Time Magazine at 18 years-old, shot with a $100 Yashica camera.. I wish you the same joy I have had with cameras crammed in my face because decades from now you will realized you are a time-traveler snatching life at 125/sec.
That's beautiful to hear! I'm close to a couple of decades at this point and am just now starting to understand most of it.

I happen to have this video on while my wife was in the room.....she loves you Matt! You're young enough to be our son. I'm hoping this brief sense of affection will help lead me to more Leica purchases (just got a Q2).
I got to try a M11 a couple weeks ago and I must say I was absolutely blown away. Granted my main camera is a Sony A6000, so of course it was gonna be an insane step up, but still the pictures I took just absolutely blew my mind. Set the camera at 6400 ISO cause the light wasn't the best and 90% of the pictures still had almost no image noise. Also shot my favorite picture of the day at 1/30th of a second and it was still insanely sharp. Just overall a crazy good camera!

9:30 one thing that is also special about this photo is the dynamic range. Look at the sky and the clouds while there’s also lots of detail in the bottom half

For color, if you punched in White Balance at above 7100 and below 7300, the sensor becomes other worldly. Great set!

Happy new year, Matt! I appreciate your approach to documentary photography - it's one I share. I recently grabbed a few portraits of a guy running his outdoor grilled cheese food truck and then found him on Instagram and messaged them to him. It made me happy when he later shared them in a reel and clearly appreciated that a random stranger captured that moment. Thanks for sharing your work and philosophies with everyone and I hope year 33 is amazing for you!
