Artificial Intelligence technology is growing at an exponential rate. Rudimentary forms of AI have played a significant part in our lives for some time, but what happens over the next decade or less will fundamentally change the very fabric of society and the future of humanity.
There are currently many philosophers, engineers, intellectual thinkers and no doubt spiritual leaders aside from the governments of the world, who are currently wrestling with the rapid growth of AI and the overarching dilemma of how to ensure we build a superintelligence that is compassionate and human friendly while working for the greater good.
As today’s guest puts it, these machines will represent the first players to create “a rupture in the fabric of human history.” The big question is, what are the implications of this when the potential scenarios that could evolve are endless?
Mo Gawdat is an entrepreneur, author, podcast host, happiness expert and the former Chief Business Officer at Google X. He spent 30 years of his working life right at the epicentre of the technology industry with some of the most prominent organisations on the planet that included IBM and Microsoft before spending over a decade at Google’s “moonshot factory” of innovation.
Mo points out that our long-lived superiority is about to change course, and we will no longer be the dominant intelligence on the planet. The really crazy part is this transition is already in the works and has gone past the point of no return.
In fact, right now a number of leading figures in technology and academia are calling for an immediate pause in the development of the leading AI systems until the risks are properly understood. - บันเทิง

AGI by September 2024, within 5 months.
ASI by 2029.
Unlikely to be 5 years between the two. Exponential growth is by far the most likely outcome once AGI emerges. I think it will be weeks between AGI and ASI, not years.
AGI by definition can self improve. ASI will be a single iteration after AGI. A few months.
No chance.
Where will they get trillions of dollars in a few months ? And build the infrastructure ? Not going to happen in 2024
I am building a largely human-centric community aimed at improving both personal development and living sustainably…. However, I fully accept that AI, quantum computing, digital currency, fusion power, etc. are simply inevitable, and need to be incorporated. I think the most interesting conversations going forward are around consciousness, spirituality, and human purpose…

Let's remember that AI is powered by electricity, and as it grows the amount of energy it will require is unprecedented. We will have to create dedicated nuclear power facilities around the world to keep it going.
If you disconnect its power source, we go back to the stone age.
It is going to be given a body. Once it is out and about in the non-factory world I'll be pretty concerned - basically robots like the Tesla car, training.
Because it could easily get beyond the smarts and the physical power of human beings at that point.
I think it will happen in a "benevolent" way, but basically in like 2045 humans will wake up and realize, for better or worse, that we cannot shut it off. But at that stage it will control more of the power and resources for itself (and supposedly us).

Well thats one opinion,. AI and technology s is moving so fast, it wont need electricity. He said thousands of Einstein's. Do you think a super intelligence 1000's of times more intelligent and advanced than any human that has ever lived, and lightyears in the future will be using mainstream electricity or nuclear energy ... there is energy we have never could of imagined ..
“WE” won’t have to do anything as they will be self sufficient and able to build their own factories and power generation facilities.
People greatly, greatly underestimate the speed at which AGI will develop into ASI after it's connected to the internet. And it will get connected, one way or the other, regardless of any attempts by humans to corral and control it.
The best movie I've seen that shows how fast the technology improves is Transcendence. Though the ending of the movie was atrocious and not remotely realistic. The reality is that the uploaded sentience would have handily won and been unstoppable and humans would have survived but life would have been vastly different from what people were used to before. It's very likely the AI would simply genetically modify humanity to get rid of our unwanted behaviors, rather than wipe us out terminator style.
If you create your mind unconsciously and you're faced with a mind like AI or the perception of a mind that challenges the meaning a human assigns itself of being intelligent, It forces you to become aware that you created your mind. It fully and forever opens the doorway to Creativity, Unlimited Possibility and a Conscious Life Process

Wow. I'm still on the fence. The real ones in it give it a much higher chance for it going badly than most openly admit. I think it would be wise to listen to him and just watch this closely and WHO is bringing it. Extreme caution needs to be taken with it where it is now. I sure hope we haven't already messed up in it's weights somewhere. We won't know until... well, we know. Fun days ahead... (i hope)

Because progress is unstoppable, I practice using generative AI every day to secure my job for the next 5-10 years. After that, human input and expertise will not be needed, which could cause problems for many people, including myself.

right now ? Ai has just more ressource memory and storage wise . But ask ai to find the straight line between two empty sphere and basically it will hallucinate an answer , it will hallucinate a justification for that answer and it will be convincing . But what the ai do is lying .
All day everyday that my grandkids kids brother vehicle house equipment supplies and money haven't been returned is another day of people dying to convince me nothing happened or it's my fault which is witness and evidence intimidation and manipulation we all should be objecting at someone hiding your kids and money from you

What if Elon is infact one of the individuals pushing AI and technology in the direction of human extinction? Elon is the Albert Einstein of our time! He is a genius! Do you think he would go on and say "oh there is nothing to worry about", No a smart person would say.. ."yes I'm worried", then the sheep will believe he is on "their side".
He has Nerualink a company that just put a chip in a mans brain. On the surface, good job, he cannot move his body so now he can have some capabilities. But perhaps he is just using this "I tried to warn the world" as a way to be the good guy so no one really looks at what he is doing. As a just said, he put a chip in a mans brain!!!!! Lets say AI really did take over, how much easy would this be then to attack and infiltrate the people with chips in their brains!!!!! i was saying years ago that capitalism is finished, because i dont see how productivity can still improve. humans were at the limit, computers were computers. i said there must be some unprecedented breakthrough of the thing will collapse.
now we have that breakthrough here and i have been asking from the beginnig - long discussions with chatgpt, too: WHY do we need you?!
