Hey Josh. Love the podcast. Simple request for future content. If u have a take like Cosell saying Hurts cant make simple reads and struggles mightily, when a team is 4 and 2, which should be 5 and 1; then have the courtesy to have an opposing view by someone else who thinks otherwise. It's fair and balanced that way.

If we’re being honest, I think this is more about Hurts not looking Dotson’s way than Dotson himself. Until Hurts improves on going through his progressions, it won’t matter who the slot receiver is. He doesn’t throw to Goedert enough so the slot receiver has no chance of being impactful

I want to love Jalen. I try to be as non-bias as possible. There’s things to love. There’s things to hate. It’s how he is, and I don’t know if that changes without a mindset overhaul. His trust is top heavy, (Goedert, Brown, Smith) and he doesn’t understand his receivers, their breaks, soft spots, etc. It’s why his go ball is so beautiful. It’s the most straightforward pass in the playbook. His field understanding needs to evolve, and his straight up reads need to be better. I’ve said this for a long time: his live processing is slow. I don’t know how he fixes that. But it’s what it feels like. He reads the field slower than everyone else a lot, and that needs to change. I love his intangibles. His go ball is great. His out of pocket magic is great a lot(even though he needs to fix his pocket control; bailing too early too often). And when he’s on the same page and playing within the offense, we thrive. Jalen needs to get his nose down.

I hate to say it , but Jalen is keeping the Eagles from getting to the next level in the passing game. It has nothing to do with his physical abilities and everything to do with his ability to see the field. It's been the same problem since he was drafted and at this point I don't think anyone can coach it out of him. A good to better wr3 plug-n-play this time, then giving up a player &/or a pick in '25/'26
A good DE/Edge rusher, swapping player &/or for our late round '25/'26 pick
I understand our running game has been awesome but only with Barkley, however, need to get Shipley into that + screens & short passes to loosen up defense. To compete with mid to elite teams on O, we have to be well rounded in ball distribution so D has to respect each wr, rb, or te. We're at the half way point 👉 & was hoping at beginning of season most would be corrected but still we lag in various areas w/o proper urgency. 2 games after by week looked promising but this no quick start 1st qtr blues really sucks!!!! Here's the thing, when we won 🏆 the Superbowl, we had Legarette Blount, & we ran the ball Effectively every game.
If Hurts can throw 20 times per game & we're WINNING, " WHO CARES ", now I'm not naive to the fact that Any Given Sunday you have to have the ability to win multiple ways.
Tell Hurts when he wants to go deep especially @ the end of the games, TAKE WHAT THE DEFENSE GIVES YOU. If you have to Dink & Dunk with Saquaon & screens to get in Field Goal range, so be it.
    🦅EAGLES🦅!

The 2024-2025 season is shaping up to be an interesting one. We hadn't beat the Saints in New Orleans and we did and I believe somehow/someway we will beat the Bengals. Will it be pretty? remains to be seen... but I think the Eagles can pull this off.

You gotta ask Hurts to throw to more east west anticipation......throwing to WR before they break out on deep ins or outs. Right now, that is just not what he does, and that limits the playbook. If you're a CB on the other team, you know that.

I can't help but to feel down because of Hurts' weaknesses. I love his work ethic and leadership qualities. I really do. But some quarterbacks have amazing work ethic and leadership AND they also have a head for the game. I would love for Jalen to be able to completelly obliterate the weaknesses that he has. I want him to be very comfortable under center, and not "prefer" to be in shotgun. I want him to be able to process information at a rapid speed, the way Brees, Mahomes, Brady, and Manning can. I mean his brain should be working like a supercomputer - seeing the entire field and just instantly knowing and understanding everything out there in a millisecond, and responding accordingly. This includes the middle of the field. A HOF level quarterback does't have parts of the field that he struggles with. I also want him to excel at timing, rhythm, and anticipation. These are things that a top-shelf QB will be great at. We need a cerebral quarterback, not just an athletic and hard working quarterback. A guy whose brain just "gets it" super quick, every time. Another thing Jalen needs to do is to develop world-class pocket awareness. Some QBs "just know" where the pressure is and how many milliseconds they have, and whether to step or pivot a bit to avoid a pass rusher, even when they can not see the rusher. They "just know" because they have great instincts. That's what Jalen needs to develop. If Jalen can exorcise all of these fundamental weaknesses that have haunted him since his college days, then we have a great shot at winning multiple super bowls during his tenure. If he continues to be weak in a few areas, then we will never reach our potential as a team.

The amount of hate and downright disrespectful comments I get for criticizing Hurts is crazy. People that think Hurts is elite are living in la la land. It's clear to me that Hurts is the main reason this offense is so choppy and the less and less he has the ball in his hands, the better and better this team looks. If he can get somewhere close to his 2022 performance, we'll be alright but his pocket presence gives me anxiety more than it gives me confidence.

Hurts isnt a pocket passer. Hes a franchise qb but he is not elite. Hes not a qb you can dropback 30-40 times a game. I think going thru his progressions is going to take some time.. we all forget hes still a young qb. This team is a run first team. Establish the run first and you get those one on one matchups in the passing game. I think Hurts is hard headed and likes to make those big throws. He gets greedy instead of taking the underneath receivers or checkdowns when the chunk yardage isnt there. He takes sacks or turns the ball over, trying to do too much. I wont say he cant read a defense.. he just doesn't go thru his progressions. He doesnt have chemistry with Dotson, and if Hurts isnt comfortable throwing to you, you're not seeing the ball...its a mixture of that and he just doesn't go thru his progressions. He goes thru his first two reads then panicks, when they arent open. He starts running around trying to make sonething happen. Thats how Carson Wentz career went into the toilet. Stop playing hero ball. Take your checkdowns or take off and run. Those are two things he needs to be better at and stop dropping him back 30-40 times a game. Hes not that type of qb.
